We are in the early planning stages of an October trip. If we can pull it off we would like to go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I have begun thinking of costume ideas for my family. There are 5 of us, DH, 3DS and myself. I want to do a Disney theme, ideally from the same movie. I also want to keep them light as I hear it can be muggy in October. I would love suggestions. If any of you have any pics of previous MNSSHP costumes I would love to see them. I am a halloween nut and always make costumes for my boys. I look forward to seeing what other folks have done.

I don't have pics, but we dress as a group for our visit 2003 MNSSHP
the girls had bright colored tanks and shorts on all day then for the party we added leis and grass skirts, flower head bands and bracelets. Myhusband and I wore hawaiian shirts all day and added the leis...people thought we were from Stitch we were just Hawaiin we thought...but it was great for the weather and easy to get on/off rides...

You could go as characters from Hercules--togas would be nice and lightweight! Hercules, Meghara, Hades, Pain, and Panic. Hehehe.

We will also be hopefully doing MNSSHP and I was thinking of doing characters from The Incredibles for the four of us. Please note that my body does not in any way reflect the body of Mrs. Incredible.

I have thought of doing Hercules. My 7 year old has a top that looks like very muscular flesh that he used last year for his motorcycle costume. I am also thinking of Poccohantas and John smith for me and dh. I can't exactly remember what John Smith looks like.

How about Toy Story?

You could be Jessie, the boys could be Buzz, Woody and Bullseye, and your husband could be a Green Army Man.

Hercules sounds like a good idea because of the heat. We went two years ago and my DS's costume (Mickey one piece sweatsuit) was too hot. We are going this year - me, DH, DS(4) and DD(2). Last time only the kids dressed up but this time my husband wants to do it as well - so happy! I'm already thinking of costume ideas too so thanks to all for ideas!

You could go as the incredibles..the costumes are on sale..both at online and in your local disney store..they are adorable.

Oh, you guys will have so much fun!! I love MNSSHP!!! We have seen some great costumes!! Last year, our favorite was Winnie the Pooh characters...the Dad was Pooh, I can't remember the mom, but the kids were Piglet (about 3 years old), Eeyore (about 5-6) and the baby was a honey pot!! The Dad "Pooh" carried the honey pot!! :rotfl: It was my favorite...so cute!! However, probably pretty hot. We also saw a family of pirates - all 5 of them! Didn't look too hot. Of course, the first year we went, we saw a man dressed as Tinkerbell - he was probably not hot in his little short skirt. :earboy2:

We've decided to go as characters from Hercules. I am going as Meg. I found a dress for 70% off at JcPenney and I'll only need to tweak it a little to make it look like Meg's. Now I need to find a wig. DH is going as Zues. We have a Santa hair and beard set that will work out perfectly. DS9 will be Hades. He wants to have blue hair since he got blue hair gel from Santa this year. My ds7 will be hercules. He has a flesh colored muscle shirt (it looks like a muscular body) from his motorcyle costume last year so Hercules is perfect for him. I'm not sure what ds2 is going to be yet. He would make a good Phil, but I'm not sure about him going with no shirt. Will Disney let him in and will it be too cool? I am also considering Pegasus, but that might be too hot. Oh well, I've got 9 months to figure it out. Thanks for all your help.

We were mouseketeers. Very easy. Just white, short-sleeved mock turtlenecks from lands end., and black shorts. We used Black sticky letters, for the names, and bought ears once we got there.
