Hey everyone, my family is taking me to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for my birthday this year. We need some great ideas for costumes! We have dh, dd10, ds2, and myself. My dd10 wants to be Stitch, so OK but, I need a great Stitch costume for a 10 year old... Any ideas on where to get one? (I've seen the one of stitch in the orange suit. I really would like to find a different one). But if anyone has any great ideas for a family theme, I might can talk her into something else.

Also, I just had the wonderful idea that maybe we could go to MNSSHP two of the nights that we will be there. Does anyone have any comment on that? Do you think it would be overkill or just a great idea for more time in the parks on a 4 day trip?

TIA

I don't have a whole lot of ideas for costumes, but I do have some advice! Make the costume COOL (temperature wise!) It is still pretty warm in the evenings. Our family went a few years a go and dressed like a group of ducks. We all had to cut our our sweat pants down to shorts because we were sweltering. That was for the Oct 31st party! Also make them easy to get around in, and comfortable to wear. This year we are planning to be a Pirate Family pirate: Are you looking for a group theme? One of you could be Lilo. If other people don't really want to wear a costume, they could make T-shirts that say something like, "Experiment 625---FAILED!" I'm sure others will give you lots of great ideas! Have fun! What days are you going? We'll be there on the 11th! Kathy :earsgirl:

The only Stitch costume I've seen is the one with the orange jumpsuit.

The poster above is right about staying cool. I've never been to MNSSHP but that's the reoccuring theme I keep hearing: breathable costumes. On that note, what about buying a matching cotton shorts/t-shirt set in blue? You can paint the dark blue triangles on the shirt that are in Stitch's fur and you can buy the ears/antenna and "paws" at WDW. You could also paint your daughters face to match.

...keeping in a family theme it might be amusing if your daughter went as Stitch and the rest of you wore Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses, and bought fake lopsided ice cream cones from a gag/magic store. (If you don't get it, watch the move!)

Thanks for the suggestions! Does anyone have any ideas outside of stitch costumes??

If he goes as stitch, orange costume (or not?) you can all go with the HAWAWII theme. Remember it was set in Hawawii, so wear your sarong, and leis, etc.. ... Or DAD can wear a terrible hawawian shirt too with shorts. That way you DS has picked your theme.

When we went a few years ago we went to a couple of nites: wore pooh & tigger. And then the next time it was SO HOT we thought lets do something else: we wore PJ's curlers, slippers, carried blankies, stuffed toy's etc.... . AS a theme. You don't have to be real elaborate everyone will know your togther. We got just as good a reseption with the pj's as with the elaborate costume's we wore the 1st time. Just go and don't worry about. Its a great nite, lots of fun.
