Well, we got our tickets for MNSSHP yesterday and now it seems so real! I am so happy to be going, my dh didn't think he could get anymore time off work but we backed it onto the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend so off we go! We are surprising our kids with this one as they need a little sunshine, we have had too many deaths and illness from cancer in our family in the last year or so and it has really gotten to all of us. Here is the question-I suspect it will be hot(Oct 5 to 9) so I cannot get into totally elaborate costumes and I toyed with just doing our faces with face paint but I am worried about sweating and it getting into our eyes etc.I like the idea of going as the Incredibles wearing red Incredibles t-shirts and black shorts (Me, DH, DD-8, DS-6) but I cannot find Incredibles t-shirts anywhere.Anyone got any ideas? PLEASE? I am usually a fairly creative person but I am a bit stumped on this one. Thanks in advance-Suzanne

I thought I saw some incredibles T's last time I was at the Disney store.... but taht was a while ago!!

we are taking the IL's this time so gramma, grampa, dh and I will be wearing orange T's that I'm going to decorate and my 12yo is being one of the 3 muskateers (blue vest thingy with the silver on it, black shorts/yellow T and a fancy hat) and my youngest ds is going to be Prince Philip - made the top/cape/hat last halloween and he'll jsut wear it with shorts. Can't wait!!

Last time we went we found a denim vest for my younger ds and he wore that with denim shorts and his cowboy hat - my older ds went as a pirate with long shorts and a white shirt and the head gear. Keeping them simple was my biggest worry. Now that they've been they really want their costumes to be a bit more elaborate but I really would prefer they stay cool!!

I like the orange t-shirt idea...my dh has a funny one from Old Navy with a frankenstein type monster coming out of a garage with mechanic type tools in his hands. It says something like Once a year, out of the garage comes ..your father !It is fun and I know my dh would be eager to wear that. Maybe I could decorate the other 3. Thanks for the idea...

We went last year and noticed quite a few people didn't dress up...too bad for them. I think that if you are going to dress up than go all out.

Pirates are usuallypretty easy, cut up some old pants, get a baggy blouse and you are all set. A stripped T-shirt also works. For us the costume worked great becuase we ending up suing it for Pirate night on the Wonder.

I did this last year!! This year we all bought our incredibles T's (red with the Incridible i on the front) for $6.99 a piece at the Disney store (only about a month ago!!)...we made little black masks out of thin black fabric too to finish off the look!

Good luck planning!

One year I wore Mouse Ears, MM Club T and voila! Mousketeer!

Last year, was my Pirate Outfit!

This year, probably my Pirate Outfit again since I will be needing it for the Member Cruise.

Whatever you decide, just make it easy to get on and off rides and nothing that will scare the little kiddies!

Have Fun!

Thanks guys, I guess if I can't find the Incredibles t-shirts then maybe I could buy red ones and do the logo with fabric paint-I will just have to be sure to hide them from the kids-thanks for the good suggestions, I cannot wait!!!

If you can't buy the incredibles t shirts - buy the red ones but instead of fabric paint (which will cost you a fortune!) use the "foamie" that is out (it is available at most dollar stores / craft stores fairly cheap) just cut it out and glue it onto the shirts - as long as you don't wash the shirts you can use any kind of glue. It is lightweight and durable and will "pop out" a lot more than the fabric paint. You could also use it to make the small incredible masks if you like.

(P.S. my family is going as a farmer, pumpkin and scarecrow)

The Incredibles is a great idea especially if you just wear the t shirt and shorts- nice and cool. We will probably go with a pirate theme ourselves- as a ::yes:: to POC. :thumbsup2
