MNSSHP and using 8-day park hopper tickets

Scheduled to arrive at WDW on Sep. 6, departing on the morning of the 15th. We have 8-day park hopper tickets.

Originally, I was planning on doing one park every day between the 7th through the 14th (8 days).

But I've also built some "low-key" days into the itinerary....and we're also planning on doing MNSSHP on the night of the 10th, with nothing else that day.

So it only occurred to me tonight, that if we don't go to any other park, and we don't enter MK before 4pm (not possible since we have Ohana reservation at 3:30pm), that we won't have to use one of our park hopper days for that day. Am I correct?

If so, does the system take care of that automatically? How do I make sure when we scan in that evening, we don't scan in under our 8-day park hopper?

if you enter between 4 and 7 (before official party hours) look for specific entrances. There will be signs and\or cast members directing people. You will scan your magic band and your party tickets will scan. (No day park admission).
Not far from the entrance, as in right past them, cast members will be there placing wrist bands on your wrist. You are then free to enjoy the park. Be sure to pick up at least one park guide (We grab two, one usually gets lost) it will have times and locations of the party activities.

That is correct you can enter at 4pm with the MNSSHP ticket. There are separate entry gates to scan the party tickets, just make sure you get into the correct line and it will scan correctly and not use one of your regular park ticket days. There are cast members holding signs so it's pretty easy to spot. You get a wrist band at entry for the party as well.
