Is there anything special we wouldn't want to miss right at the official start time of the MNSSHP?

We will be in Epcot prior to heading to MK for the party, and we were thinking we'd try to do Garden Grill for a 540pm ADR that day, and then go straight to MNSSHP. We have park hoppers, so being able to get into MK at 4 with the MNSSHP ticket isn't a factor for us.

Garden Grill isn't a priority at all, but we haven't eaten there yet and hear it's yummy and plus any chance to get more characters is great for us (it is our son's 4th bday that same day). If there's something cool happening at the very beginning of MNSSHP, we'd rather be there for that.

I'd not wait until 7PM or later to enter a hard ticket party.
It will be a zoo of confusion at the gates and on transportation options.

I'd also not waste a minute of the valuable party time sitting in a restaurant.

But, everyone's priorities are different, so just have a plan in mind and HAVE FUN!

Oooh, I didn't even think about it being a mess trying to get in. We do have someone in our party that doesn't tolerate that kind of thing very well, so we'll definitely scrap the dinner idea.

Thank you! :thumbsup2

It is best to get to the park between 4 and 7 and eat before the official start of the party. If you are interested in the rare character meet and greets (Jack and Sally assuming they will appear again, Seven Dwarfs) those lines begin to form around 5-5:30.

Cancelled Garden Grill, changed around some other plans, and called to get a ressie for Pirate's League for 2 pm the day of the party. We will have a very happy birthday boy! Thanks again!

The night of the MNSSHP is the only night we're not planning on TS. We'll also be at Epcot for the day and then head over. My understanding is that if you have a ticket for the event, then you can actually head over to MK starting at 4pm...so for us, we plan on grabbing a QS bite (or snack...depending on how hungry we are) so we can max our time at the Halloween event. You don't need a park hopper for the event, but the ticket.

Maybe make your TS reservation for breakfast or lunch?

Yes, you can get into MK at 4 with your MNSSHP ticket. I meant that since we have park hoppers, we'd be able to get into MK at any time that day and not have 4 pm be the factor. We'll definitely have the MNSSHP tickets as well of course.

We are actually doing Chef Mickey's for breakfast that day for our son's bday, and we'll be touring Future World until we leave for MK. I changed some things after posting my OP and now we're doing Pirate's League at 2pm, so we'll be heading to MK much earlier, and we'll just do a counter service wherever we are when we get hungry. Probably at MK right before Pirate's League unless there's a good CS option in Future World that I can't recall, but figuring that part out is a different post for a different board. ;)

If you want to do any special characters, Dwarfs or Jack Skellington, etc. It's best to line up for them before the party starts to minimize your wait during actual party time.

Try getting a early dinner reservation at Crystal Palace. That's what we did for the Xmas Party.

You eat right away, and if you don't have time for the characters just head out.
