Mnsshp-9/29

I think it was definately more crowded than last year, but we still walked on most rides. The fireworks were great, even though late. I watched the first parade from the front of the bridge to Tomorrowland and a lady with her kid tried bolting across the street just as the headless horseman was about to ride through. Three cm's jumped up immediately and grabbed her :lmao:

For those who went on Friday:

--What were you wearing?

Maybe we saw you. The most recognizable person in our party was wearing a garden gnome costume with a big beard.

I think I saw the garden gnome! DS was dressed as Hercules, DH Hades (home made costume but people did call him Hades), and I was Meg (again homemade and rather sad looking). I hope you had a good time!

We were also there 9/29. Just got back last night.

As for the crowds - it all depended on where you were & when.

DD wanted to do the face painting. We were closest to Toontown. It was crazy over there! She decided to do it anyway. After waiting 15 minutes & moving less that 2 feet, DH asked a CM approximately how long it was going to take - the answer was probably over an hour, so we gave up & went to find Bullseye.

Last year the line for the Toy Story Characters was very long. This time there was only 2 other families in there. Bullseye was coming back in 10 minutes, so we waited. About 6 families came & went during that time.

DD asked if we could try the face painting in Adventureland & I figured it would be the same as Toontown, but the line was short & in about 10 minutes she was throught the line & had her face painted.

We had a special moment on the tea cups when the Queen of Hearts rode in a cup near DD. The Queen put on quite a show.

We had a good time & did what we went for, but accomplished more at last year's party. I agree with HugsForEeyore - unless they make some changes, there's no reason for us to go to another MNSSHP.

The only two we hadn't seen before were Tarzan (we just missed Jane as she left with one family ahead of us) and Walrus.

Howdy:

You must have just been behind us. My twin DD4 (in pink Kitty ballet dresses) had their picture taken with Jane and Tarzan just before she left. We then circled back around the line again and got Timon's picture (as he had relieved Rafiki). Go figure. I was looking for fellow DISer's all week (stealthfully) and to have one from NC just behind us... (we are from Raleigh). :confused3

The best part of the evening was getting our picture taken with Captain Hook. After the picture he motioned for us to stand to one side. A few minutes later we had ourselves, along with Smee, and Peter Pan there. The cast member who was with Hook then announced that Captain Hook was going to take us on Pirates of the Caribbean!!! Wow! We the proceeded to follow the good Captain through the lineup of people who were waiting for the ride (I figured it was probably about a 30 minute lineup) A little piece of me felt bad for them as Hook pushed his way through, but a bigger piece of me was totally excited!! :) The best part was that he ACTUALLY RODE THE RIDE with us!! We were singing the Pirates song and had an absolutely great time!

We were some of those you "CUT IN LINE" but I'm not upset. You all looked great and we knew exactly why you were getting to go ahead. So cool to see Capt Hook get on the boat with you all. Glad you got some pixie dust. PS I think we only waited about 15 minutes or so. pirate:

Mickey1122- DH and I were Fastpasses...Space Mountain and Soarin'

We had a great time...we've never been, so we have nothing to compare it to. We loved the parade and fireworks...trick or treating was fun...it was neat to see some rare characters. We did a few attractions, all of which had little or no wait. We're excited to go back with our DD in a few years!

I saw you!!! Your costumes were fabulous! Everyone in my group and those around us were commenting on how original and great your costumes were. We were sitting in the center area in front of the castle before the 1st parade started and you guys went through the crosswalk. I was Wendy Darling, DH was Peter Pan, and DD2 was Tink. My mil was Minnie Mouse.

Very cool!

Were you able to go through any Fast Pass lines? :rotfl:

We saw you guys!!! Cute costumes!! Our kids were a 5yo Capt. Jack, and a 5yo Aurora (with a BBB hairdo from Hades!! :sad2: ). We love the Halloween Party and can't wait to do it again either!

After HM we went in the store just outside where they had lots of Halloween items and asked the CM about the special pin for the party. She says "there is no special pin for party". Another CM walks up and quietly says "yes there is" - clearly the other CM was shocked. She practically whispers to me that I can only get at Frontierland pin shop or the Exposition Hall on the way out. So we go to Frontierland. I asked about them and she pulls from under the counter. Got the one for the party (actually bought 3) and while I liked the AP one much better, I did not qualify. They also had one of those giant pin/sets so I bought one of those. I briefly looked at a sheet showing all of them, but didn't want to be disappointed in my own so I didn't dwell. She said they are limited and according to her the extras would not be sold later. Hard to believe they wouldn't but who knows. It was all so hush hush, top secret ;)

That's awesome! I don't think we saw you, but maybe next time!

JenniferAtl- We didn't actually go through any Fastpass lines, but we got a lot of attention in Space Mountain. The CMs there really loved our costumes, especially the Space Mountain Fastpass...they really are sentimental about their attraction. The CMs in the tower made an announcement "Great costumes, Fastpasses" about our costumes as we were ready to blast-off on the ride. When we reached the end, a CM greeted us and took us immediately to the other track to ride again. At the end of that ride, the CM met us again and asked if we wanted a tour of the SM tower...so of course we said YES! It was so cool to go into the tower (control booth) to see how they operate SM and monitor the trains. After that, they had us ride a 3rd time, and at the end of it a CM brought her camera out and wanted a picture with me (since I was SM--DH was Soarin') and gave us a coupon for 2 popcorns and ice cream bars. It was a very magical night!

Goofy that is so awesome. I definately walked past you a couple of times. I kept giggling and thinking what great costumes. I was Wendy and my friend was a doctor. I'm glad you had a magical night.

My family was the Flinstones (Me-Betty; DH-Barney; DD-Wilma; DS-Fred).

One of my favorite costumes was the "Deviled" Egg. Thought that was hilarious! :rotfl:

The Sept. 29 party was my first MNSSHP and it was the highlight of my trip. I loved the special lighting around the park and the many clever costumes. The parade was great and the Hallowishes were the best fireworks that I have seen. I also enjoyed the Villains Mix and Mingle---the villains are my favorite Disney characters. It was funny and a bit odd to see the sexy back-up dancers in the villains' show, but I guess Disney has to change with the times. Lines for candy seemed very long and the line for face painting was also prohibitive. Most of the rides that I went on had no wait, so it was a great way to enjoy the park. I hope to attend MNSSHP next year!

:goodvibes i was at the sept 29th party as well. i thought that the lines were not that bad but trying to move after the first parade was AWEFUL! :guilty: it seemed like everyone was trying to push and fight there way to fantasyland and didn't care who they stepped on to get there. we chose to do more rides during the fireworks because we were staying in the contemporary in a tower mk view room and ended up catching the fireworks from the next halloween party (the 2nd?) from our balcony and had a perfect view! they were very good that night. i was alittle dissapointed in the size of the crowds and the fact that it was sold out. at some points it was very hard to move especially with a double stroller and an ecv in our party.i probably won't be back to wdw for a couple of years and i guess i'd be willing to try it again but would DEFINATLY not go on a friday!

2 questions.

1. Does anyone know why the fireworks were late? I noticed a plane fly over about 9:37. I thought Disney was in a no fly zone.

2. I don't remember Christoper Robin ever being in a parade. Was this his first appearance?

Thanks for in replies.

Did you hear the guy who made a joke about Mickey parachuting down onto the steps of Cinderella Castle to start the show with a bang. (and a splat)
