Hi, just got back a few days ago and here's my report for the first MNSSHP of the year:

We arrived at the entrance at about 5:30 p.m. and got right in-no lines to speak of. We then got our wristbands-again no lines yet. We proceeding down Main Street to LTT (we had 5:55 p.m. ADR) We stopped and had our pix taken by CM and she told us that to make sure that once the official party started (7 p.m.) to make sure and get lots of photos taken as any 5 x 7 pictures bought during the event would be half price.

We arrived at LTT about 5:45 or so. All the CM were especially ghoulish looking-they were wearing HM costumes and were made up to look dead. Very effective! We were called in about 5-10 min. We were the party from the "Dark State of California". The characters were all in costumes. Their arrivals were spread out during our meal. For those who don't know the characters there, we saw Chip, Dale, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy. The meal was good, the food was hot. My DM especially liked the flank steak, my DD7 and I liked the turkey, mashed, and gravy. Again, the gravy was nice and hot. (As you can see-hot food is very important to me and my DM :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ) Service was good, the restaurant didn't seem overly crowded. We were there just under an hour and we did see Minnie and Pluto twice and the others once. The handler was doing a good job of having the characters move through the rooms. :goodvibes

My DM and DD went outside to wait while I took care of the bill (Thanks Free Disney Dining!:goodvibes ) and to warm up a little. When I came out of LTT it had started raining. A women saw my shirt and said "You're a disboarder, aren't you?" I said I was and she said she saw the picture of my shirt that I had posted. I didn't get her name (sorry) but she was able to point out what direction the rest of my group went (in our matching shirts). It was just 7 p.m. and they made a (loud) announcement that the party was starting and anyone not wearing a wristband must now leave the park. :cool1: We then walked to the first of many candy areas and got our first ones. They had a great painting of the hitchhiking ghost that I took a picture of DD in front of (See pix in later post)

We went to HM and you'll be happy to know that the CM there told the young couple (with kid in stroller) that they were not allowed to enter as they didn't have wristbands. This was the only time I saw this happen but I didn't look at everyone's wrist to see if they had the orange band. I was happy to see the CM do this as it was just after 7 and they were being very strict about the wristbands.

HM was basically a walk-on. The CM played her role wonderfully. My DM swears someone tapped her (kindof hard) on the back of the head when we were in the stretching room. I told her the CM was right behind her and it must have been her.

At this point, it was raining pretty well, so we ducked into the Golden Horseshoe Review and Woody was there visiting with the kids. He said Slowpoke was on his way and while we were waiting, he lead the kids in a game of Duck, duck, goose. It was pretty funny watching him stand up quickly, after being tapped. :rotfl2:

We then went over to Buzz Lightyear. It was about a 10-15 min. wait. By now the rain had stopped. It was time to find a spot for the 8:15 parade. We got a good spot in Liberty Square across from the Hall of Presidents at about 8 p.m. They announced at 8:15 that the parade would be dealyed (due to the thunder and lightening happening) and while we waited I spoke to a nice man next to me. He said that they cancelled the first Villains thing at the front of the castle due to the wet stage. I don't know how many they did that night since we didn't watch one.

After about 10 minutes they started playing the music and the parade was on it's way! The headless horseman came first and was very cool! The parade was a few minutes behind him. The rain started again just before the parade reached us. It wasn't easy keeping my camera and my camcorder dry but I was able to get some pix. The parade was good and they handed out alot of chocolate candies. We really liked the music-and of course Capt. Jack Sparrow was there. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

After the parade we found our location for viewing the fireworks. We stood on the bridge between LS and the hub. Of course, about 5 min. before Hallowishes started, my DD had to go to the bathroom! :confused3 My mom took her and I held our spot. ( The nearest bathroom was pretty far away) I won't go into what happened next but suffice it to say that I had an encounter with 2 very unpleasant women (one was 45+ and the other was 62) who were very rude and nasty to me and were not in keeping with the magical place we were in. :headache: Enough said about that. Back to more pleasant things. The Fireworks started and were great! :cloud9: We had a slightly obstructed view of the castle but were able to see most things. My DM and DD got there about 5 min. after the FW started. I did tape them though and they came out great!

After the fireworks we went back to TL and rode TTA (no wait) and, of course, collected more candy. :goodvibes They we had a snack of 2 rootbeer floats (2 QS) and enjoyed them before riding Autopia (about a 15-20 min. wait). It was getting more crowded. We then walked over to Toontown to do the Alice walk that I had read about as having many characters to see. First we rode Goofy's barnstormer (twice without getting off) and then we found the walk. This was disappointing :confused3 as there were no characters there, with the exception of the Queen of Hearts who came barreling through. It was just more candy handed out by "cards". Some of the cards were stingy with the candy.

By this time we were getting tired since we spent the day at BB and decided to head out. Main Street looked really good with the lights and shapes on the buildings. We stopped in the candy store and got 2 caramel apples (2 QS) to take back to our room. We were able to see all of the decorations at the entrance as we left since they weren't there (turned on) when we arrived earlier (before 7).

We took the steamboat to the parking lot and it was now about 11:30. Oh, and I forgot to say that we were able to park pretty close when we got there so there was no need to tram, or fold the stroller.

We had a great time and saw some great costumes. :goodvibes Our shirts worked well especially when we walked through the black lights in TL! The glow-in-the-dark paint really showed up.

Would we do it again? I don't honestly know. It cost us just over $100 and we did get a large amount of candy and the fireworks and parade were great! But was it worth the extra money? I'm still undecided about that but I'm glad we went and my DD7 had a great time! :cloud9: She definitely wants to go again. :cheer2: I think my main disppointment was that I was expecting to see more of the unusual characters but the only ones we really saw (besides the parade) were at LTT. We didn't go to the judges tent in TT.

So, that's our first MNSSHP report and now here are some pictures.

Oh, and final note, the caramel apples were great! :cloud9: One of the best, if not the best ones, we ever had! We had one a few days later at MGM and it wasn't as good.

great report, thanks for posting:thumbsup2

nice shirts & your DD's a cutie (funny, she looks like she's taking inventory of her candy haul LOL).

glad to hear you made the best of having inclement weather, could have moaned & groaned but, you turned it around:wizard:

Don't you just love dumping out the treats and 'sorting them'? :)

loved your t-shirts!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Great report! A real help! Thanks! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

OMG, I love the picture of your dd with all the candy on the bed. I think my parents took this picture every year after our Trick or Treating. We used to make a huge hall too.

Load your pictures on the DIS and let the techs resize them for you.

Wonderful report, thank you for taking the time and please post again as soon as you are able!

Hi neighbor!! :wave2:
Thanks for all the info. Looking forward to more pics. Hope you're able. We were in WDW 9/13-18 and I could not get anyone to go to MNSSHP with me. I really, really wanted to check it out. No one wanted to shell out the extra clams. That's what happens when you go with cheapskates! :rotfl2:
Have you been to Mickey's Halloween Treat in DCA?

Thanks for the comments and yes she is taking inventory! She made a list of everything we got. It reminded me of my trick or treating days. Also, I just love the smell of the all the candy in the bag-totally reminds me of trick or treating. :goodvibes
