MNSSHP 4:00 entry or not?

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe there is a regular Wishes show on nights when there is a MNSSHP.

Bonny

Interesting. I see that now on the official WDW calendar for MNSSHP nights. Makes sense since it is not dark enough yet at the earlier time. A Wishes show at 6:00 PM is showing up though for the MVMCP nights this year. All MNSSHP & MVMCP nights show a 7:00 PM regular park closing time which I would think makes clearing the park of non-party guests a little more difficult this year.

Hayley,

I'm sitting in my room at Port Orleans-Riverside right now recovering from last night! You'll have such a good time. I really couldn't believe how much fun we had.

We did see a sign for the Magic Show. It was at Belle's Storybook Garden just across from Cosmic Ray's (which hosted an awesome dance party). The show times were every hour on the hour. The girls wanted to see it, but we just never seemed to be around at the right time.

Oh, the free face painting locations were so fun! They were located at the standard face painting booth in Toontown and also in Adventureland just next to the hallowed Dole Whip location.

Have fun!

Jaymie

How much was face painting and what kind of designs were there?

My daughters and I arrived at MK yesterday afternoon about 4:30 and were directed to the MNSSHP entrance to the left. I asked if I needed to use my AP and was told to just use my MNSSHP ticket. We were given a free double stroller immediately upon arrival as well.

The girls and I had THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME last night! It was truly one of the best experiences I've ever had.

If you have any questions please just ask!

Which land do we go to while set up is going on and how busy was it?

As I understand it, they're not herding party guests to any particular land, this year. The park closes at 7pm, and the party starts at 7pm, so there's no need.

Can't wait -- we're going the 2nd and the 5th!

Are strollers free the night of MNSSHP? Somebody posted that she got a free stroller..don't know if that was because she was an AP holder.

They were free last year with just the MNSSHP ticket.

There was not a showing of Wishes last night prior to MNSSHP. We had supper at Cosmic Ray's about 6 PM. There was an announcement made by the "Ghost Host" at about 6:30 saying that the party would begin at 7:00 and telling those without tickets where to go buy them.

From my vantage point there were no issues regarding clearing the park of guests. I noticed nothing but happy party goers with wristbands.

I'll be there the 29th too. Does anyone know what the crowds were like? Or have any good touring advice for us?

Had we chosen to the girls and I could have walked on ANY ride last night with no wait. There were large lines for character greetings and trick-or-treat locations early in the evening. After 10:30 lines for those activities were negligible. My touring advice would be to play around and look until the fireworks (awesome...by the way), watch the 10:30 parade and then trick-or-treat your heart out. We have 5 bags full of candy!

So does that mean the parties will never be 'sold out'? In other words, if we go to MK for the day and decide we want to stay for the party, we'll be able to make the decision late in the day to buy tickets?

Face painting was free at each location. There were 8 different designs to choose from (Tinkerbell, Princess, Fantasy Eyes, Goofy, Minnie, Pirate and something else). I did see a couple of 'unique' jobs being done as well. My entire session was done in under 10 minutes easy.

Set-up took place while we were in the park, but wasn't obtrusive. There was alot of lighting effects that you didn't see until the start of the party in addition to large inflatable characters on top of buildings and around corners.

It wasn't busy at all on the rides. Everything was a walk on that I saw throughout the evening. The 10:30 parade had plenty of room prior to the start. The largest lines were for character meet and greets.

Have Fun!

The strollers were free to anyone with a wristband. I wasn't sure and just asked. I was directed to the stroller area under the train station where I asked for and got a double stroller with no problem!

Great information about the FREE strollers! My DD's (5 & 7) will need one if we want to last the evening. See you on October 2nd!

Not necessarily. At Night of Joy a sold out event- if you did not have a wristband you were told the park was closed for a special event and you had to leave. There were no additional tickets available so buying them wasn't an option guests were simply directed to the exit and told they could not ride or shop since the park was closed to them.

Many early nights are not sold out but if a day is sold out and the Friday night and those closer to Halloween tend to be then you will be told to leave the park.

Okay then, I'll buy my tickets now. I wasn't sure if the announcement they made at 6:30 last night telling people the party would start at 7:00 and where they could buy tickets if they wanted to stay would be an announcement they'd make on every party night.

Cool! I will keep an eye out for the blue belly dancer. ;)

There are alot of DISers going on the 29th. There was a whole thread on who was going that night but I am not sure what happened to it. And there are some meets planned for that night too.
I think one is around 10 near the Dumbo ride, but I am not sure. Maybe someone else who remembers that thread and the meet times can give more info for those going the 29th. :thumbsup2
