Are there any adults going to MNSSHP 2013 who are thinking of dressing up?
If so who are you going as and where do you get your outfit form?
:wizard: :stir:

We are going this year! I am going as Sally from Nightmare before Christmas and DH is going as Jack Sparrow. We got both costumes from eBay. Dh's was about £15 and mine was about £6, although I've just ordered a wig for another £8.

Yes - costumes still to be decided - well I had decided then dh started looking and I have changed my mind :rotfl2:

I would love to dress up but being plus sized it is a nightmare finding stuff as the actual outfits they sell are too small. I also have to get something this year as am going out there before halloween next year!
I might have to get creative myself but no idea who to go as. My fave char is Little mnermaid but that'd be too difficult as a plump girl...lol

what we found when we went to MNSSHP is that nobody dresses really scary..hence the name..It's all more of a fun thing, you don't really get anybody with hammers coming out of their heads and blood and guts down their clothers etc:rotfl: Our nephews looked a tad out of place and maybe should have gone to Universals Horror Night instead!!

I always laugh when I remember that night as my DH, nephews and DH's mate lined up for an autograph with Darth Vadar, there were lots of kids etc in the line and it wasn't until my DH and his mate got to the front that they realised that they had to squat down a bit to get in the photo I was taking and that actually it was just a guest and not a CM!! They both said they thought he was a little small for Darth Vadar..:rotfl:

That is hilarious! Must make finding the CMs a nightmare! No pun intended.

I would not want to go as anything scary but still have no idea. Thought maybe a princess? but where to get a plus sized outfit? ebay has nothing and i am panicking (ignore that i have a year til i go)lol

We're going this October and still have no idea about costumes! Ideally, I want something simple that won't take up too much extra room in the suitcase!

xx

Etsy have some good sally costumes that look like they'd roll up very small.

do you have time to go to the stores when you get to Orlando...you should find a lot of choice there. I bet Walmart would have something...

There's someone on eBay who specialises in larger costumes for both men and women. :thumbsup2

I had a cool idea (at least I thought it was cool) to go as Hunger Games tributes. It would just be t-shirts/vest tops with "district 5" etc on and dark combats. But no, I was vitoed and we're going with a Stitch theme.
I would say maybe think of something that can be adapted from your old clothes. Costume fabric is always irritating IMO

I have an aladdin inspired outfit for when we go to MK just for a normal day (yes i'm obsessed)

I am thiking maybe a hat and some clothing in the same colours to tie it all in.....
Still cannot find anyone on ebay. Unless I want to flash me knickers to all of MK! LOL:lmao:

I have these UK sites bookmarked for plus sizes

http://www.partybritain.com/womens-fancy-dress-plus-size-fancy-dress-c-2_34.html

www .acefancydress. co.uk/plus-size-fancy-dress/womens/2/ (you have to search through as they have some in plus size and some not)

http://www.largeandlovelyfancydress.co.uk/ (closed until 4th Sept)

OOh thanks.
I am currently on a diet so even though i am panicking i cannot buy anything yet anyway. So have decided to go down the non halloween route and do disney character instead. That way can get it all year round. :goodvibes

I made our costumes (as I'm a "unique" :P size too, plus costumes on-line just seemed so expensive ~ for the ones I wanted!)
Last year places like Asda had really expanded their Halloween costume ranges and they were quite cheep - BUT - DON'T go as anything scary (like we would do here in the UK) you will look soooo out of place!!!
We worried that not many of the adults would be dressed up and we might look a bit daft. Exactly the opposite! We saw some amazing costumes and it was the best night we ever had in the park.

We went as Jessie & Woodie - Cheep shirts and jeans from Primark, some cow print fabric, some yellow fabric, a red marker pen for the details! and hats from poundland. Yes there was quite a bit of sewing involved to get the costumes just right (Jessie's tops a lot fiddlier to do then you might first imagine!!) But it was worth it:goodvibes

Something simple like a pirate is quite easy to do - just remember that what ever you pick it's still going to be hot in the evening! Wigs get hot!! :)

We just booked for Oct '13 and we're definitely going to MNSSHP! We are still planning our costumes. My wife is considering Rainbow Bright! I think I'll probably go as Aladdin because we both want to be in something that we can walk around and ride the attractions in comfortably. Ebay is good for costume but we're going to see if the big fancy dress shop in Essex has anything cool.

My original plan was to go as Harry Potter and Hermione, but I was immediately told no! So I think the next step is Minnie and Mickey! :lmao:
