MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

DD and I were watching the parade on youtube and noticed changes were made to it this year...grrrrr. Not surprised that they took away more then they added. It really was fine the way it was... :sad2:

Disney apps don't show characters or showtimes. Sorry we don't have iphone yet, but info is on my blog.
Shadowman is on the left hand side of the stage after show.

I'm with jsw1114. We were there the 25th, and it felt insane. We encountered way worse lines than we did during any of the 11 days of our trip at the party.

And this was on a Tuesday night??? Did it rain the night before? I'm wondering what could explain this. I was looking at the lines apps and other than the character greetings and the normal lines for candy until near close, it *appeared* to not be too bad. Any other reports? I've looked on the trip report section and I can't find anyone giving a rundown of the parties and how crowded they are.

What did you wait in line for? Rides? We have absolutely no interest in waiting in line to get our picture taken with people in felt suits, so I'm hoping the other attractions aren't that bad.

The prior Friday party was very rainy I believe. I read on another forum that Disney was exchanging tickets and offering refunds so perhaps that explains the big crowds.

We leave tomorrow and I'm so excited. It's just a weekend trip and it has to last me until 2014!

Two questions:

Is there an iPhone ap for the party/ MK? I'm hoping for something that shows wait times and the parade route. Basically an electronic map. :confused3

And the only character I want a photo with is the Shadowman, Dr. Facilier. What's my best chance for getting that photo? After the villains mix and mingle maybe? Which one?

No iPhone app for the party specifically.

Facilier meets after each Mix & Mingle, and nowhere else. There are 4 of these per night, he should be at each one. The six characters will take positions in front of the stage after the show--Facilier should be 2nd from the left. Ask CMs in the area to confirm his position and stake that ground for the show so you'll be in position alpha when he starts meeting.

I noticed only two things different between last year's parade and this year's. One, the pirate/wench dancers were replaced by a flag team. Two, there was a small additional float with some of the HM tombstones on it that was kinda cool.

What was missing for you?

They also eliminated a segment from the grave diggers in favor of more Sparks

My memory's not so good that I can remember differences in routines from year to year. I remember they were there and made sparks. ;)

Yes, it rained and at around 8.30 pm my heart sank and I felt like we had really wasted money on our party tickets as they delayed some of the shows, characters were over an hour late coming out at the 626 dance party and they definitely were restricted in certain respects with what they could offer. We still had a great time but it also rained through the fireworks which made taking pictures a bit of a challenge (and I'd rented a locker that night just to put my tripod in). We didn't complain or ask for anything, but for anyone who says you don't lose anything from a party if it rains, I have to disagree.

Was at the first party on the 11th.... here was my costume

Will Pete's Silly Sideshow affect the meets of Donald, Daisy, Goofy & Minnie during the party? I ask as the soft openings for it start Sunday.

There's not a high chance the party tomorrow night will be sold out by 5ish right? Family only wants to go if the weather is nice.

I'm more worried about Sunday's attendance. A bunch of my friends who are doing the race Saturday are going to the party Sunday. My theory may be totally incorrect, but I think more racers will go Sunday after the ToT marathon, rather than Friday before the marathon.

I agree. We were there on 9/21 also. I felt that we didn't get to do that much either. We were in line for 7 Dwarves around 6:30 so we did see them (waited about 40 minutes I think). We did the trick or treat trail near Splash Mountain, headed over to Adventureland, did a few more treat stops, met Aladdin and Abu, stood in line forever for Tarzan, Terk & Jane (only to have Tarzan leave when we were close). It was super crowded during this time because all the villian shows and first parade were cancelled. Headed over to the hub to see fireworks and moved down Main Street for parade. Parade started late and Headless Horseman didn't ride. All in all between the fireworks and parade/waiting for parade we were tied up from 9:20 to about 10:50. By the time the parade was over, we only had time to head to Tomorrowland for a quick treat stop and a short visit at the dance party - then over to Fantasyland where we met Aurora and Philip. Then down Main Street hoping to see princesses but line was closed - got in line for Mickey and Minnie and they closed the door about 4 people behind us. That was it. Many characters were moved to other areas due to the rain (so we didn't know where they were) and with the exception of Minnie and Mickey, no characters had Photopass photographers (even though the characters had some sort of shelter, like in the Adventureland Veranda or the marketplace where Aladdin meets).

We still had fun and I don't regret going, but I am bummed that we missed so much. :(

Sunday parties this far from the actual holiday rarely sell out. I think even if there are a lot of racers there, it will be offset by the lack of locals who tend to come out on nights when they don't have work and school the next morning.

I hope, but I am a local coming out on a Sunday night. But we homeschool and dh has Mondays off.
