MNSSHP 2012 Official Information

Anyone think I should purchase advance tickets for the 21st of September's party? It's on a Friday. Is there any chance it will sell out or should I not bother until we arrive... if you do purchase far in advance, you get charged for shipping, is that right?

Last year, we also went on a Friday in September and just waited and bought them from the concierge at the hotel a couple of days beforehand.

I am pretty sure that there has never been a sold out party in Sept, so you should be fine purchasing your tickets after you arrive. We usually stay for 10 days to 2 weeks, and I wait to see what the weather is looking like and then purchase tickets the day before the party we choose.

I know the Sep 30 last year sold out--I was there--and I think Sep 27 did too. That said, I don't think this year's Sep 21 will sell out. YMMV.

As for adults wearing costumes during the day, I think some of the posts are referring to their experience on Halloween, while others are talking about other MNSSHP days. There may be a difference with regard to this policy.

Thanks, awdwnut and mesaboy2. :goodvibes I think we'll wait to buy the tickets for the 21st party. Also, the resort IPO informed me there's a shipping surcharge of $5 on the tickets if we buy in advance. I'll save that moolah for a downpayment on a pre-party drink.

Thanks Mesaboy2 - I so appreciate your info about getting an earlier ADR the night of the MNSSHP. I called today and was able to change our ADR at Liberty Tree from 6:30 to 4:20! That should give us plenty of time to be ready before the party, right? Can we get our party bracelets before the 4:20 ADR?

Dang, I new that I should not have believed that buss driver. Ha!

We were at the Sept 27th party last year, and it did seem REALLY crowded, but I did not hear that it had sold out. I could swear that two or three years ago a CM posted on here that they had never had a Sept party sell out, but maybe they were incorrect, or MNSSHP in Sept has gotten busier since then.

We are hoping to attend the party on 9/25 with our 4-year-old (and possibly 18-month-old unless we can convince grandparents to watch him that night.) Our only issue is that we are getting military tickets so we cannot buy them in advance (we arrive on the 24th.) I don't think I'll be heartbroken if we miss it because it sells out, but what is the likelihood that it will? Also, are there a limited number of military tickets available?

I really think you'll be fine. Those sellouts last year are believed to have been the result of several factors, not the least of which was MK's 40th anniversary on October 1.

That ADR's perfect. You should be able to get your wristbands anytime after 4:00p near the Hub. Last year or two you could get them at Stitch's Great Escape I believe.

No worries--see my explanation above. Before last year I think your statement would have been true.

There is no limit to specific types of tickets, discounted or not. The limit is the total number of tickets for a particular Party. I have no idea what these numbers are, but the ATS is programmed that as soon as that number is reached no new transactions for that Party will be processed. As long as the transaction has been entered into the system, even if the payment has not been processed, that transaction will be allowed to process. But the listing for that Party's tickets will vanish from ATS and no additional tickets will be processed.

Thank you for your answer.

We wore our costumes all day the week before Halloween and had no issues. I had contacted a number of CMs ahead of time and they all said it was okay as long as we didn't look too close to the character or pose for photos with guests.

Gotcha. That sounds like a reasonable way for Disney to handle it.

What a relief to hear that others have worn their costume early.

Thank you to all who posted their 1st hand knowledge. I sooo appreciate everyone's advise and opinions. I know everyone means well, but sometimes, just sometimes, people get things wrong. I was hoping this would be one of those times.

I also realize anything can change in an instant. We may show up and the CM at the entrance will smile and say "have a nice day". Or we maybe unlucky and the CM may say..."you can't come in looking like that!" We are gonna try and hope for the best.
Thanks again.

Do I have to call to purchase tickets or can I purchase them online? Couldn't find a link on the website.

I called 1-407-w-disney. It was automated. We got them in the mail about a week later. They are a plastic, credit card type. It lists info like date and times of the party. We are so excited. First time for MNSSHP for all five in our group. I am gonna be a hippie. My DD is going as a modern Alice in Wonderland. My mother is a pirate. The other two people are still deciding. Can't wait!

I'm wondering why people think the 30th of Sept might be a sell out? I bought for the 30th and really don't want a sellout party! I know Epcots BDAY is on the 1st, but that's not a major holiday for the area? Won't people be back to school/normal life on Monday, Oct 1....I don't know why that particular event (Epcots bday) would sell out the 30th party?? :confused3 thoughts?

I have got tickets for Sept 30, and became worried that that day would be busy. Because of EPCOT's 30 year events. (Thanks to DisBoards) I called Disney to get a Castmember's opinion. And to ask of we could switch dates to the next party date. He said that we could change dates, but to act fast. He also did not know of any official big events pertaining to EPCOT's 30 year anniversary. So he was not worried about the crowd. It's my first party and don't know what to do!!!! Help!!! Do I keep the 30th or switch? :confused3:scratchin

I would keep what you have. I don't think Epcot's 30th will be as big a deal as WDW's 40th last year. Also, this year that date falls on Sunday, instead of Friday as last year.

Mine came regular US Postal Service. But I was charged 5.00. Don't know if that's what everyone was told, but that's my deal.

I was offered that or I could pick them up at will call for no charge... as I already have to go to will call and like saving money, I opted for that. But I bet it feels great to have them in your hand!!!

Got ours the same way. Was afraid to get the e-ticket with all the issues people were having that day with dates being wrong.

Questions for all you WDW Pros!!!

So our family will be attending our first ever MNSSHP and we are dressing up as Marry Poppins and gang... Our costumes LOOK legit too... Im reading they may not let us in! :scared1: is this true? I just thought no pictures or autographs. And also, we would like to do the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare right before we go to the party. Can we go inside to eat in costume? What are the rules for restaurants?

I want to see them! What characters? My DD has a Mary costume...and I debated it, but I can't think of something that wouldn't be too hot for me to wear. (Penguin or Bert with a blazer)
