mmode and AT&T-- for phone geeks

We just got two new mmode AT&T phones and I have some questions. Are there any free downloads out there that you just have to pay for by KByte? I have a month of "free" service which includes 1MByte of downloads. I don't know much about this service but I am surprised that after paying your monthly fee you also have to pay for items such as games and also pay for the download size. Unreal. Anyhow I'm looking for some interesting downloads and would love for someone to point me in the right direction. My previous phone is an OLD Nokia that didn't have any of the more modern capabilities.

I have had an m-mode AT&T phone, a Siemens S46, for quite some time, though just use it for calling, no m-mode stuff.
