MM Warriors - Three Steps to Good Health (As of 11/18)

hope you're better today--will continue reading and hope that you'll post that!

I feel better, but getting tired early again. We're going to a Harvest Festival tomorrow so turning in early I think. It was great to see you!

Lisa - My mom is in a little bit of pain, but she won't really admit how much. It's right on her spine so I can't imagine it feels too good especially sleeping.

Robin - OMG I feel the same way. If I can't lose the weight, I'll make it muscle!

Nell - Wegmans has turkeys here for .29 a pound. I need to wait until Sunday cause we're driving up to my mom's house and I'm bringing all the fixins with me. Hopefully, they will still have the sale on.

Hope everyone else has a nice evening! I think I'm going to go grab me a nice hot cup of tea.:surfweb:

Cindy: Your Mom is very brave. I will be praying for her comfort and recovery. I can't believe you can get turkey that cheap! I'm thinking of getting a free range organic one this year since it's a small group of us I can afford to splurge once. One more week until I can get my hands on my boy!:yay:

If anyone likes to do Black Friday (who doesn't LOL) the ads are starting to come out now. Here is the link.

http://www.black-friday.net/bf/walmart-black-friday.html

This shows walmart, but on the right hand side, all different stores are there, just click on them.

Thanks Kathy. My sisters & I get to the stores early on Black Friday and we're done by lunchtime. - just as it starts getting crowded. We eat out and then go to a Christmas movie. We find that in the past few years the shopping has become more for us than for Christmas presents. :rolleyes1

Robin - I will add your friends to my prayers. I hope they found it early.

Oh, Kate, you reminded me of the time young J-P snuck out with the neighbor kids and tried too much alcohol on a dare. He threw up the better part of the night and his Dad, while helping to hold his head over the toilet, took every opportunity between vomits to drag him up by his hair and yell into his face, "Party! Is this a party??!!" I cried all night and now I laugh so hard when I remember my Tom's voice! Oh, yeah and there was the part when he projectile vomited on me. Not a good move on his part. I cut up his driver's license.:rotfl:

Oh, Lisa. That is too funny. Although I am sure that it wasn't at the time. Poor J-P....

Diane - that is the best way to shop! For you! Sounds like a fun day!

Lisa - I am saving my opened boxes of icky tea for Nell for Christmas, but I will be happy to throw in some birdseed crackers for you!! Hop in the truck!!

You have no idea how much fun it would be to have that retreat here at my farm...besides the Godiva ride, it would be so fun to have everyone together, all the doggies together...I am picturing a giant bonfire under a starry sky with my awesome mountain view, and all of us having a legal weenie roast and then have the ponies take us on a hayride!!! So when did you say y'all could make it here!! Im thinking April or May when it is so gorgeous here and the weather is awesome!!:cool1: It could be one big MM birthday party!

Cough up those birthdates those of you who havent already!!!:)

I would love to come in the spring! Count me in!!!!!

Carol - we have room! I can't wait! Robin - do you have room for some yurts (I think that is what they are called)?

OK - I had to google yurt. I will take one of the deluxe ones, please, with running water, sewer and electricity.

Hello Ladies!!! How is everyone doing? I have been so busy with work and kids and family issues. I've been trying to read and catch up, but I'm just skimming.

Nell- I'm so glad you got your "package". Love you!!!

I'm doing really good and exercising a TON. It's ridiculous but now I'm addicted. I can see a difference now. Not in weight unfortunately, but I'm turning every fat cell in to muscle!!! YIPPPPEEEEE. Staying on plan for the most part. I think I slipped once but had some stress and not going to let it drag me down. Taking LOTS of vitamins and I think that is what is keeping me healthy. That and I don't get out much since I work from home.

Is everyone ready for the big Turkey day?

Hope everyone is having a good day and I will try to check in more frequently.

LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Cindy - so glad to see you. I wondered where you had gone.

I cut up his driver's license.:rotfl:

Lisa - I will remember that quote. With a DS who is 15, I am sure those days aren't too far off. As for the license, mine just got his permit on Monday, so all of a sudden he is willing to go with us everywhere just to have a chance to practice driving. So far, so good.

Thanks for that heads up! I never once thought of that! DUH!
I hope I haven't been doing myself in. I've been eating them as a 5x5 and it is working great for my "texture" type cravings.
I'll check the weights tomorrow for sure.
Thanks for catching that.

Kathy - no problem. My DH has trained as a chef so I have picked up little tidbits of info over the years.

Good luck trying to determine why the punishment never seems to fit the crime. Glad Carrie was able to go back to regular school this week. Hopefully she can put this behind her and move forward with her goal of becoming a nurse (a nurse, right?)

You know what I hope, too, is that we get to do the Oprah show and all have a paid vacation to Chicago- that's where it's taped, isn't it? To have them bring us all up on stage to meet each other for the first time...how cool would that be? All the drama, tears and screams of excitement would make the show!
Carol

Feast upon the Words of Christ

Wouldn't that be an exciting day? I don't think anyone would be able to sleep at the hotel. That would be one amazing party!

Hi everyone! Just got home from an appointment down in Gulf Port near St. Petersburg. It is so cute down there! We are thinking it might be a relocation possibility when our lease is up.

Nell - are you really thinking about moving? You must have tons more energy:rotfl2:

hope you're better today--will continue reading and hope that you'll post that!

Natalie - we finally get to see your face! Great new avatar.

Well, it's off to bed for this girl. I'll see you all tomorrow.

P.S. The secretary at the office made a comment today that she could tell I have lost weight. That's the 3rd person to comment! WOO HOO! I guess that's 2 non-scale victories this week!

OMG, I am so tired this evening! That treadmill just kicked my butt...but I managed to kick off another 300 calories, so whos kicking whose butt here?!!

Nell - I think if I woke up in the morning to find you guys all camped out in my yard I would burst out crying!! And I will tell you this..Pony does NOT cry! Like hardly EVER...but that would definitely bust loose the dam!!

Bev - glad you're in too! Isnt it totally BIZARRE how people notice the weight loss and comment on it, but WE dont seem to feel or see it? Where in the world does it go? Are we just the same shape but smaller overall? I cannot figure it out for the life of me!!

Thanks for all the prayers for Dennis and Rick...it is just breaking my heart...I got together earlier with some of my former co-workers who love them both too, and we have already gotten into CHARGE mode...have two girls putting together a care package with everything they will need to make Thanksgiving dinner with plenty of leftovers, I am heading over on Sunday with a lasagna and a pot of chili, some garlic bread and salad...another girl is on the way in a couple days with a bunch of paper products, tp , paper towels, napkins ,etc plus coffee, and a weeks worth of breakfast food, and we are all chipping in to a fund to get Christmas goodies and some gifts too...Rick started to cry when he heard what we had planned...almost brought a tear to my eye too!

Kathy - glad Carrie is back in school, and hopefully will just fit back in with no BS to contend with...I know that this will all just make her stronger in the end...

Lisa - have fun at the Harvest fest, and I couldnt get the yurt link to come up here at home, so I will have to take a look on my office computer tomorrow...not so sure it sounds like something SANE people would do....so it would be perfect for us! Im going to have to stay with Bev in the one with all the amenities! Believe it or not I am one who considers a hotel without 24 hour room service to be "camping"! I DO NOT camp...I refuse to try to sleep with bugs .....YUK

Diane - I think I could do Black Friday the way you do...buy stuff for me! LOL Me and my new roomie Kate will join you!!

Cindy - we are going to weigh alot but look like ZENA, MM WARRIOR PRINCESSES!!!princess:

Had enough of this day, so heading to bed...looking at my new ring, shaking my head and going awwwww....

9:15 PM here. We just got back from dinner - great Italian place and I had grlled veggies - no carrots - instead of pasta. I didn't even taste Bob's.

I got my sinks shined today as well as the shower. Our friends came for wine before dinner and to watch the sunset so got into a cleaning mode before getting the nails done!!

It seemed to take all day, though.

Lisa - glad you are feeling better today.

Laura – sorry to hear you are so sick. Hope you feel better soon.

Kate – how great that your niece is doing so much better. I can only imagine what her parents are going through.

Beverly – cute about your husband noticing the change!!

Cindy – so nice to “see” you. Glad you are getting the exercise in and staying on track.

Kathy – I would measure by the cup and also weigh. The bag gave ounces, but also said ¼ cup for the almonds. Glad Carrie is back at her school. Hope all went well for her.

Lisa – I think there is a Cost Plus by the new gym I go to for my water aerobics. I’ll have to check that out. Would love to find some syrups here without huge shipping costs!!

Nell – you’re an Aries, too!!:cool1: Bob’s birthday is the 22nd of March, mine is the 31st. Love those Aries!!

Natalie – what a lovely picture.:cutie:

A gathering at Robin's sounds delightful. It would be soooo much fun for everyone to meet. Is there an airport near???

Hope everyone had sweet dreams and that Robin's blood sugar is down this morning.

Do any of you have thyroid issues?

I'm not sleepy so was reading the Other Thread.

Here is a statement from Diane one of them recieved:
One thing that Diane did mention was if you get to end of eight weeks and have done everything according to plan and still not feel you have seen results to check your thyroid levels. I had mentioned I was on medication and she said any issues with my levels could affect weight loss.

They were also talking about raw cauliflower not being good for people with thyroid issues. Cooked is fine. Raw brocolli and spinach can also appearantly cause problems.

I know my doctor said my readings were low one time and then said they were fine the next time. I have blood work done in less than a month and she does everything so this might be interesting.

Think it is time to call it quits for the day. Anoter busy day tomorrow.

Nell, you share the same birthday as my brother!!
Carrie is as upset about it as I am. She said it is the topic of the whole school right now. She is as disgusted with the school as I am.

Robin, hoping your BS is doing better this morning. Is it sunny out today for you? I do hope so. I know I wouldn't do well where it rains alot.
The day for online "black friday" is the monday right after. I think it's the 30th. They call it Cyber Monday. I'll look online to see if I can find any stores listing their "ads" yet. They keep that stuff under lock and key and it's really hard to find them. I'll see what I can do before work :)
I will also be praying for your friends. Cancer seems to be everywhere lately.

Bev, that's great about your butt! LOL. Isn't it nice when they notice? Makes you feel like a million bucks. Keep up the zumba.

Natalie, I do the Black Friday, but I only have a few stores. A Walmart, Bon Ton, Pennys, Sears, Kmart. Those are the "big" stores here. I am usually done by noon. I find what I want, get in, get out. Walmart is only a couple miles from my house, and the mall is only about a mile. So I head to walmart, maybe staples if I see something, come home, then off to the mall. I'm usually home from walmart by 6am. I don't wake up super early to "get ready." I usually get up around 4:30 and just head over.

My friends and I (and my girls) usually go shopping tomorrow also. It is when all the guys go to bear camp. We meet around 9am and get home around 10pm. It makes for a long but great happy day. Tris has to work until noon tomorrow, so I may wait for her, meet everyone for lunch, then shop a while with them. Not too sure yet. Believe it or not, I actually hate shopping.

Cindy, great to see you! I will continue to pray for your mom. She is a brave woman. It is amazing how moms can "pretend" we are ok for our kids, even when it's not.

Well, have to get some food in me, then off to work. Have a great day everyone!! I'll be back later.

Robin,
here is the link for the "ads" for cyber monday. I didn't get a chance to look around the site though.
I did notice at the bottom of the page, there is a link to black friday online ads also.

http://www.cybermonday.net/

Good Morning Cathy - You are like me. I love going through all the ads and getting the best deal ever!!! Last year my best deal was the dinsauar KOTA. We got him for $100 and FREE shipping. Unbelievable!! He was $300 and $100 shipping everywhere.

Morning Bev - good to see you too!

Jocelyn -I vote that if we all get to see each other it's at your house. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, we could stop at Kate and Lisa's house first, but the main event should be in Hawaii!

My mom is extremely brave. This makes 3x of cancer treatments. She had breast cancer when I was 18 (so 23 years ago) and it recurred 5 years ago and now the spine. I believe it is her faith in God and her love for Jesus that keeps her strong. It's truly amazing what your faith can get you through.

On top of having problems with my mom, my daughter had blood in her stool last week so I was dealing with that and the my client (Sony Ericsson just announced a 2000 person reduction in workforce by the end of Q1. So I'm not sure where my job stands, but I have just been so sad for the past week.

Today is my son's 14th birthday. He is such a sweetie and makes me laugh so much. Quite a character.

The only thing I like about November is his Birthday, I cannot wait for this month to be over. (My husband died on Nov 2nd - 5 years ago).

Enough about me. I hope everyone has a delightful morning and may God bless you. My verse for the day actually every day, This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Love you all!!

Chat soon...

Good Morning Ladies and Tom!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I don't know what I would do without you guys!!

I am starting to feel better my throat doesn't hurt anymore but now my nose is stuffed up. I found someone to cover my class last night and the one for tonight so hopefully that will help. The sad part is you can workout for 50 weeks out of the year and be down for 2 and when you go back it's like starting from scratch. So I can't be down for to long :eek:I had another Jamba Juice coldbuster this morning, I have to get rid of this cold so I can be totally back on track.

A MM Retreat sounds like fun!! Count me in!!!! Hawaii sounds good :) or California or Virgina or Heck!! Any place but FLORIDA :rotfl: This floridian needs to travel outside the sunshine state!!! and see snow!!!!

We better get on OPRAH before 9/9/2011!!!!

:thumbsup2 Make sure you guys keep drinking your water and exercising!!! Next week it will be easy to get sucked back into the "I'll wait until after the holiday's" trap!
Stay away from it!!! Don't fall for it!!! Don't let 1 day turn into 30 stay focused and tell yourself over and over "I AM ON A MISSION" That's what I have been doing to keep myself focused.

Cindy prayers to your mom from watergirl! :littleangel:

Disney good job on the nice butt!! :lmao: (Zumba said butt)

Mom to Zack, Getting Healthy, Carol-Fish, Lisa, Pony, Seabreeze, Nell, Kater (thanks for the Black Friday Link) and the rest of the gang!
Have a Great Day!!! I better get to work I have some stuff to get caught up on since I was stuck in bed Tuesday. :grouphug:

That's interesting info Jocelyn. I think I need to get some blood tests done anyway and think I'll ask for a thyroid panel too.

I'm cracking up that you don't think 4:30 is "super early." That's super-de-dooper early for me.

Good morning...Sun is back and I am a happy Pony today!! It doesnt usually rain here like this, in fact we have been known to have droughts of several months, so all this rain lately is welcome in terms of "we need it", but I am definitely getting sick of the gloomy days...unfortunately it appears we are due for even more this weekend! YUK

Jocelyn - there is an airport about 45 minutes from us here, so get packed and we will get the runway cleared for you! Like Cindy says though, your place is on the list for MM reunions too! What fun for us all to be on the beach in our new, svelt, MM bodies!! LOL, I just had a vision of all of us on a sailboat...bet THAT would get ANY boat hung up on a sandbar!!:lmao:

Kathy - thanks for the cyber Monday link, heading off to go look and see what I can find there! DD wants a GPS for Christmas and I have NO IDEA whats a good one to get her...hard to believe that you hate shopping!! You are the shopping go-to girl!!

Cindy - So sorry this is such a tough month for you...isnt it amazing though how Faith will get us through? Remember that the Lord never gives us more burdens to carry then we are capable of handling. My Dad's birthday was Nov. 5, and even though he has been gone over 20 years it is still a melancholy day for Mom...BTW, I need your birthday for the list!!

Lisa and Jocelyn - I am posting the pumpkin bread recipe to both your e-mails before I leave this morning! If anyone else wants it, let me know, Im not going to post it here due to its total and complete lack of anything LEGAL for MM!! Just a great Christmas treat and gift!

OK folks, I need birthdays for Tom, Gena, SharronLee, Pam, SueAnn, Laura, Honeygram, Sandra and Sherry...where are you guys?

Jocelyn -I vote that if we all get to see each other it's at your house. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, we could stop at Kate and Lisa's house first, but the main event should be in Hawaii!

Cindy - Hawaii sounds good to me too!

It sounds like your mom is an amazing lady. Was your DD ok?

We'll keep you and your job situation in our prayers.

It sounds like November is very bitter-sweet for you. I can understand that it could be a hard month for you emotionally.

I will rejoice in the day!! (It's finally sunny, so it should be easier.:goodvibes)

One of my normal Zumba nights is Thursday, will be tough this year with Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, but I found out at last night's class that our sub teaches a Tuesday night class in a near-by town (where my kids go to school), so I have already planned to attend Saturday, Monday, Tuesday this week. The two are very close together, but I figure it's better than skipping it altogether. The Tuesday will be my first "regular" Zumba class (not Gold), so we'll see how I do. One of the ladies I have met at Zumba has also agreed to go on Tuesday so I won't be the lone newbie who is clueless what this teacher is doing. In Gold our teacher spends time teaching us the moves before each song. I don't think they do that for regular Zumba, so cross your fingers I don't run into anyone.

Laura - I knw you're here! When is your birthday? New list and all...glad you are feeling at least a little better!!

Bev - I have been getting thyroid panels for the past 5 years, thinking that might be part of my problem...nope, everything was normal every time...I know that you do have to ask for the more detailed panel to be done as there are several different levels they can test...have a cousin who tested normal on the main tests they do, but I think its lilke a T4 or something else that they check, and they caught abnormal reading for her there...she went on meds and lost a ton of weight without even trying...she keeps telling me that even women with normal readings should be treated if they have all the sympoms of thyroid, which I do, but my doc refuses to treat unless she sees something that indicates the need...so no thyroid meds for me...Im still wondering about it though due to my slow losses on MM
