MM Warriors Part Deux (As of October 27)

My bras are fitting wonderful. They were all way too tight when I began. So far none are too big. It's so much more comfortable without them cutting into me. :)

Lisa, I know you already placed your order but some stores like victoria secrets will measure you when you go in and help you find the right size. If the one that comes doesn't work, maybe you have a store like that near by. It can be any lingerie store.

Harkening back to my shy girlhood and first bra, I hate to be measured by people, Nell. I need to get over that. It is one of my goals for when I am happy with myself physically again. In the meantime, it's trial and error, lol! I love lots of pretty bras, but I'm going to stick with two or three good ones until I get to my goal.

Good evening everyone. I didn't get a chance this morning to tell you all hi. Sorry.

Robin, that poem is so nice! Does he make these up himself or cheat and have a book of romantic poems? ;)
I think it is so sweet that he lets you know how much he misses you. Any sign of the ring yet?

Bev, a switch loop is where you take your hot wire and connect it into the neutral wire in the fan part of the ceiling fan. This makes the neutral now postive. You then take the now postive one connect it into the positive one in the light part of the ceiling fan. And the neutral wire from your celing into the positive wire in the fan. This now makes your positive a neutral. Hence, switch loop. That way you can turn on the fan without the light coming on and you can turn the light on at the "pull chain" on the cieling fan. Hope it makes sense.
My friend kept laughing at me on the phone that day. He is a very good friend, or I may have gotten mad. Call Lowes or Home Depot when your ready to put the light in, and they will walk you through it. They are pretty nice about that.
Also, I am so relieved your oobie is ok. Prayers are being answered here every time we turn around!! Praise God!! Also good going on the weight loss!! Pretty impressive when a man says something about it LOL!!

Barb, I hope you have fun with your daughter and son!! Grab me something at Ross when you go LOL. I just put my pecans in a zip lock bag and left them on the counter. I need to make some tonight.
I was thinking of the same pumpkin concoction as you were!!

Lisa, thank you for the complement. But my ex is the one who did them. I don't have a creative bone in my body LOL. I would love to have them here, but no where to store them unfortunately. I loved the sleigh and reindeer. We decorated boxes and put in it to make it look like presents. I don't really have enough of a front yard either to put them, and no one would see them in the back yard.

Kate, thank you for the information on pumpkins helping with yeast infections. I have dealt with them since I was in 7th grade. The only thing that helps them right now is Diflucan. It was a God send when it came out. I now only get them around 4 times a year. It used to be 3 or 4 times a month!!

Nell, I am so glad you had a good morning. I know what you mean about it being surreal. When I have more than 2 good days in a row, I tend to worry, thinking when is the crappy part going to hit me? But I am finding that I am having more and more good days. Even my depression is gone!! This is a miracle for me. It usually is getting bad by now. But come February and March, that is usually when it hits full load.

Lisa, I did go to VS to get measured. I am so glad I did. I had no idea what size, and none of my bras ever fit me well. Now I have 1 from there that I got on sale right before the wedding. I got a $55 for $16!! It was very professional how she did it. It took her maybe a minute! I'm not kidding either. Just that long!

Ok, off to read my book again. Was too tired the last couple nights to read it. I'll be back later.
If I missed anyone, sorry.

Cool deal on the "non-pumpkin" !!! I saw the recipe she posted...probably since she gave us the OK for a pumpkin "cheat" !!!

Kate- no news on his return date as of yet...always a complication here and there dealing with the Chinese...he says they are near impossible to deal with, but the money was good so he went ahead! He was hoping to be back here this week until Thanksgiving, but no go on that, so we shall see! I look at it this way...every day he stays gone is another possible pound for me to lose!!

Forgot to tell y'all...had a co-worker tell me saturday that I needed to go buy some clothes and get rid of the sweater I was wearing, because it was HUGE on me! Yay! Boy did THAT feel good! LOL

I have to catch up again on posts, I started writing this one a long time ago and never got back to it!

Robin: Awesome on the huge sweater comment! You really should treat yourself to some new clothes, even if you bless them to someone else before you reach your goal. I find even 2 or 3 new things brighten the spirit. I got the nicest 'work skirt' at Ross for $14! :cheer2:

I'm confused by Diane's post on the blog with the pumpkin pie. She doens't qualify it as a cheat - says it's 5 x 5 for Step 1 and 5 carbs on Step 2 and 3 so it sounds like it's ok anytime?? I guess she reversed her caution about it considering the portion of pumpkin in one slice as not enough to worry about?? Barb, if that's all you did wrong, you were probably ok to stay on Step 2.:confused3

What a great compliment Robin!! If I remember right, weren't you thinking you weren't losing? It is so nice to know that your hard work is paying off!! :cool1::thumbsup2:woohoo:

Low Carb Praline Pumpkin Pie

2 tablespoons hot melted butter
½ cup finely chopped pecans
½ cup sugar substitute (recommended: Splenda)
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Praline Crust Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Mix all crust ingredients together in a bowl. While mixture is still warm from the butter, press evenly into bottom of a deep-dish pie pan and bake for about 5 minutes or until browned.

This is the crust to a pie I made on Aitkens years ago. The filling was essentially the same as Diane's. Mine said it was only 4 carbs per serving. I remember the taste being not exactly the same as my Mom's pie and I'm sure that must have been the Splenda. I don't have much Splenda experience, but I thought some of you might like the crust recipe. If we like it, I can put it on the recipe thread.

:confused3:confused3 I was eating pumpkin pie, acorn squash and pumpkin soup  My waist was up an inch after a month on step2..I think if it was just the pie it would have been ok.

Hi Again, things are finally slowing down a bit here, so I could catch up again!!

Jocelyn - I will post that pumpkin bread recipe one of these days so y'all can take a look, but it is FULL of terrible sweet things ! Good to make to give away to our Met A friends though! I may have to wait a day or two to find it! Now that Mom is living with me I have to try to be somewhat quiet when I get home from the gym at midnite!!

I think Ken wrote the poem himself, although who knows? He might have a book of 1001 love poems with him there!:rotfl: At this point I am giving him all the credit!

Lisa - OMG I hate bra shopping...but I have the best solution...DONT WEAR ONE!!! Seriously, my mother has been yelling at me about this for years...I only wear one to work, church, or other major outing...otherwise it is COMMANDO for me! :woohoo:

OMG the phone is ringing again...grrrr I want to talk to you guys and go to the gym instead of work today!!

Robin: I have told Tom if he wants to remember me naked, remember me in the hot tub, where 'the girls' are floating all perfect.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Lisa - too funny! I remember the hot tub days...cant go in anymore for health reasons, but I do remember that the "floaters" looked great in there! :lmao:

Well step 2 hasnt managed to throw me into a tailspin yet today...got all my 11-20 in at mealtimes, have some string cheese and crackers to eat on the way to the gym...and got a thermos to put my 3:30am milk snack in...should be good to go!

Hey Lisa - think the gym is making the difference for me? I just realized that MOST of my sweaters from last year at this time are way baggy and look like crap!! I SOOOO hope that step 2 doesnt make me stop losing! PLEASE!! I actually felt this morning like my belly might have gone down a little..and I have not felt that AT ALL since I started MM...I kept putting my hand on my belly all day going, WOW, does it feel smaller today?!! My co-workers must think I am some kind of LOON!!

I really expected you to start seeing a quicker difference from the gym. I'm going to look into one here. I totally do think that's it!:woohoo: Glad you handeled Step 2 transition well! We're still eating a lot of Step 1 meals and adding a piece of fruit or something. It's easy that way. We've decided to branch out on the 11-20 choices and stock up on some beans, peas and sweet pots.

I am OUTTA HERE!! Yay, heading for the gym, back later!

I know I will miss some of you later, so have a great night everyone!:flower3:

I'm sleepy ladies. I've been thinking of all of you! I don't know if I can answer so many things. Tomorrow we have to go into Tampa to see the orthopedic doctor. It's supposed to be one of the best Veterans hospitals in the nation, so that's good. I'm reading the appointment paper though and it's talking about shuttles from the parking area, so I'm afraid it's going to be huge. Well, it will be interesting. :)

Laura, I hope your having a wonderful Zumba night!:banana::banana:

Lisa, I understand the getting measured. I'm sorry it wasn't a better experience for you getting your first bra. I got teased, by my Dad, but he did it lighthearted, I think it was to help me feel more comfortable. Like admitting to the elephant in the room. He said he hoped I didn't get a living bra, because it didn't have anything to live on. Because my parents weren't uptight about it, I felt a lot more comfortable about it. I have a feeling that your order from VS will come in and it will fit perfect!

Kathy, it's great that your so handy! I'm impressed! I seem to recall reading something about pumpkin seed also being great for internal cleansing. Not just the fiber, but it's supposed to help with (Robin, cover your eyes) any parasites you might have.

Pony, awesome on needing a new sweater! You can retire the huge ones to working around the farm!

I think I'd like to make a peanut butter pie for a special occasion some time. I'm not that fond of pumpkin anyway.

There you go Lisa! Buoyancy is wonderful, isn't it? I would like a hot tub and pool someday. I'd like to be buoyant too! :dance3:

I am trying to stick more to whole foods also for my carb dams Lisa. I am having triscuts though and whole wheat wraps. Other than that I'm sticking with natural. I saw puddings and such in the store yesterday and when I thought about it, I couldn't justify using some of my daily food on empty calories. There's a little protein, but not much.

How are you doing on Step two Robin? You started, right?

Nell: We do really love the flax bread and I eat a lot more sandwiches now than when I was heavier, funny, huh? I probably eat 2 - 3 fruit servings a day, including my middle of the night 1/2 banana. This is a very satisfying low carb approach I feel I can do forever.

Yay for the baggy sweaters! I am SURE you are smaller, you LOON!

Kate: We made Mediterranean Chicken last night - 6 pieces, then Tom's lunch, then spaghetti squash and pesto with leftover chicken tonight. I thought of you - it was sooooo good. Where has spaghetti squash been all my life??

I absolutely agree! This I can do as a way of life. I have a name for what was wrong, and an approach to manage it! I'm on cloud nine! :cloud9: It feels so doable. I'm not missing things that aren't good for me, at all. It's feels bizarre. I can stand before different choices and make those choices based on what I'd rather put in my body for health reasons. How weird is that?

I just finished my applesauce. I'm comfortable with the individual applesauces because they don't have any funky ingredients that I don't recognize. And, this is so wrong... I priced on sale apples and I priced the store brand applesauce. Per serving, the applesauce is cheaper per serving. It makes me just scratch my head wondering how our food supply got so twisted.

Hey Kate! It's great to see you tonight! I have to hit the hay shortly. It's an early morning tomorrow! It's great to see you all though. Talk to you soon or tomorrow! Not sure yet. :rotfl:
