MM touring schedule help....

OK, will be there Spring Break (very crowded from what I have read!!). Can you answer a few questions about my general touring plan for a MM?

1. FL rides in order suggested by ridemax / DIS
2. Get FP for SM, ride Buzz,other TL rides until FP window opens
3. Get FP for Splash, ride pooh, HM, POTC
4. Get FP for BTM
5. lunch at first showing of Billy Hill
6. Grab DCA FP's GRR and Soarin
7. Break until late afternoon
8. Do FP rides, dinner at Goofy's 530pm (arrive 30 min early?)
9. Continue FP rides, others if time until stake out seats for fireworks
10. Ride until we drop or turn into pumpkins at 12am!

So, what I really want to know is will it take the entire hour to do all the MM FL rides? Or do you think I will be able to squeeze in Buzz or SM before the regular park opening?? I will use ridemax to create the actual touring plan, but don't know if I should include SM and Buzz at park opening, or include them in my MM which isn't accounted for in ridemax? Or should I just make 2 plans?? And otherwise, how does the general plan sound for a day....I know there is stuff I missed in the itenerary, but I have most of it scheduled for other days or I will fit them in if there is time on the ridemax plan TIA!

Where are you staying?

I once thought that I rode SM during MM, but was later told that it's never open. And since Buzz isn't *always* open during MM, or at least they have to allow it to not be open, that might be why the touring plan isn't allowing for that.

When you grab those FPs, where are you going to break after that?


Do you have small children with you? Do you *want* to do all of Fantasyland? For instance, if no small children, do you *want* to ride Dumbo? With small children, do you *want* to go on Snow White and Pinocchio? Especially if you start promptly with Peter Pan and Toad's, I do believe you could get all of FL done, especially if you don't need to go on everything.


Don't forget the ponchos for Grizzly, and if you have backpacks and purses with you, take advantage of the free, locked, lockers off to the right of the entrance of Grizz!

I agree with Bumbershoot, do you want to ride them all? If so, you will not be able toride all of the FL rides in 1 hour. Dumbo is very slow loading. And if you do that first, Peter Pan will get a long line and vice versa. Some of the FL rides are not open- storyboats, Alice sometimes. There are 10 rides in FL. Keep that in mind.

Your plan looks good, but i also agree with the above.

Let us know what you want to ride (or not want to ride) during MM. MM during Spring Break will be more crowded than MM for people visiting now.

If you were one of the first one's thru the gate, I suspect you'd get 6-7 rides in before the :50 mark....which is when you'd want to head over to SM for your initial FP pickup (& if no line, go ahead & ride it thru standby as well......because you can. )

(I assume you're picking up an Indy FP on another day?)

WOW! You guys know so much!!
Let's see, staying at Carousel Inn and breaking there in the afternoon (of course the break is optional, but I really think we should since we plan to close the park ). It's me dstepd15, but she has never been to any Disney park, and wants to try almost everything.....even Dumbo! Of course, I still love Dumbo too. We want to do all FL rides that are open for MM (of course, IASW and the Carousel will be closed during our trip). I had read PP before Dumbo (which is opposite to WDW where PP has FP). We won't do Casey JR or autopia in TL, and maybe not a few of the BIG rides, she doesn't like upside down or sharp turns (I'll end up doing SM alone while she waits, but she said she "might" try it). Maybe I can make a roller coaster lover out of her yet!! Afterall, how does she know she doesn't like them if she's never been on one????? (If you can imagine that )
Anyway, we'll be there Monday 2pm (doing parades, some DCA stuff, yes, I have my grizzly ponchos already packed!!!, early bed), Tuesday (MM day in OP), Wed (no MM, plan to do anything not on my other list, plus whatever we really liked, dinner Ariel's, Fantasmic dessert seating), Thur until 12pm (MM but not for us, hit the "other" side of park (AL, CC,NOS) or anything we just "have" to do again!) Then drive up the PCH to Santa Barbara for a few days

For a Magic Morning early entry (in Fantasyland), here is the order that most DISers like:

Peter Pan (first, always first )
Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland
Matterhorn (FL side)
Mad Tea Party / Mr. Toad's (order doesn't matter)
Snow White / Pinocchio / Carrousel (order doesn't matter)

Like the Hound posted, 6 or 7 FL rides is "doable" -- maybe 8. JMHO, it's highly unlikely that you would be able to fit in SM or BLAB during the Magic Morning.

We were there and did MM both last Thursday and then again on Saturday. Saturday we were there for MM at 7am (we were actually running a little late, about 7:10 or so. It was the first non-raining beautiful morning of the entire week and we stopped three times to get pics with our photopasses, we walked right on to Peter Pan, no line, then dd and MIL walked on Peter Pan, we walked on Mr. Toad, Dumbo, tea cups, Matterhorn, and Alice, all by 8:30! Nothing had a line, there was hardly anyone back there, I was amazed. I don't know if that was a normal Saturday morning with Magic Morning or not, but it was great! We got to ride more rides than we did the first Magic Morning and it was definitely much less busy, but it was a Saturday!

Agree with everything said above. Only things i would add are:

- if you like Matterhorn & there's no line, go ahead & do the other side too. (i prefer the Nemo side, fwiw).
- the Teacups, Pinocchio & SW could be ridden on another day or another time, if you'd rather head to Buzz or SM after 40 min.
- I've done EE/MM 7 times. Twice it was empty & 5 times it was semi-crowded, so riding the first 4 rides in order (on those more crowded days) allowed us to max our EE touring. (& It was semi-crowded twice when we were there at Spring Break.)

Can you have a chat with my stepmom that I'd like it if she would get a bit mushy towards me and go on a mother-daughter (my mom died in '00 so stepmom's what I've got!) trip with me? I'm a bit older than 15, but when I was 15 she was having her second baby with my dad, so was a bit busy. (and we won't even bring up her having their third when I was 25, zoiks!)

Since she's never been on a coaster, start her off slow. I suggest Gadget's Go Coaster in ToonTown. 30 seconds of sheer exhilaration!

You were very lucky!!! That's why we go in the off season. We get so much more done early. But I think OP is going during Spring Break and will not have that luxury. I agree that you might want to save Pinochio & Snow White for later. It will not have the huge line in the morning. Do the more popular first

If DsD isn't a thrill junky, try the "Alec" swap over at Screamin' (in DCA). Named after my son who wouldn't ride Screamin yet...(but might next time). Screamin' is right next to the Triton Carousel (really cute).

My DD 25 y/o (who is my DsD btw) & i took turns riding Screamin' while DS 8 rode the carousel.

Your DsD can ride the Triton Carousel while you ride Screamin' in the singles line. (unless she is ready for Screamin'). Have never waited in the Singles line more than a couple minutes.


Sandy, make sure you've got the top down & have your cool shades for your PCH drive.

(& if you stop at Malibu Seafood...."toasted sourdough" for your fish sandwiches.

Thanks Bumbershoot!! I think your SM should absolutely take you to DL to make up for all that!! I am hoping to make this a yearly trip for just us girls She's such a sweetie and a joy (yes, there is a teenager that is still fun to be around ), and doesn't have such a good relationship with her bio mom, she deserves this!! We went over the list last night, and she says no way on screamin', but she can't wait for TOT and wants to try SM!! wooooooooooo hoooooooooooo!!
Did I tell you all that I gave her a big box with colorful tissue paper lining it and beach and DL stickers, and a mickey helium balloon that floated out of the top.........then attached to a cinderella card (played Cindy's waltz music) that said "Your evil SM is taking you to DL.....just don't eat the apples...."

Thanks to Hound too, I love the Carousel idea because she wants to ride it for sure, that way I won't feel like I am abandoning her while I ride screamin!

Snow White and Pinocchio are seldom busy at any time of the day. It is easy to slip those two in during the afternoon.

Agreed. I'm sure it's because most guide books, sites like the DIS & locals know that SW & Pinocchio (& to a lesser degree, Toadie) are darker, & scarier than the other fantasyland rides & might scare kiddo's under say 7 y/o. Thus, many (most) families often avoid them. I've ridden on Pinocchio several times each trip because i love the detail & the story.....& the ride is usually a walk on.

BUT...i like ALL the dark rides (especially Toadie & Pinocchio & Alice....which ironically the three dark rides NOT found at WDW) & ALL are must do for me & my son.
