Is Morning Madness something different than Early Entry? It will be EE days every day we are there in the beginning of July. How do I find out when MM is, or is it the same thing?

Thx!

Early Admission is being called several different things. Read the "Early Admission Super Thread" and hopefully things will get more clear:

So, reading through that thread....

If I have a 5 day park hopper with one MM and am staying off site from 6/23 - 6/28 I could use the MM Sat, Sun, Tues, or Thurs for the Disneyland side only, not DCA. So best day to use it would probably be Tuesday 6/26, correct?

Yes, you got the hang of it. But I would use it on the 23rd or the 24th.

23rd because it's your first day and you'll be the most ready/likely to wake up that early. The logic is that the later on in your trip the less willing you'll be to get up for a 7AM EA.

24th because that's gonna be a crazy crowded day and it would be good to get a jump on those crowds. The 24th will probably be the most crowded of your days.

The 23rd is the day we get in, flight arrives at 9:45am. I planned on staying away the 24th and doing something else and using the 5 day hopper the 23rd for the latter part of the day and the 25th - 28th. My kids are older so we'll also be spending a few partial days at SFMM and KBF to ride the coasters (we did the same thing in 2010 and it worked out great). I'll probably go to SFMM on Sunday and buy a flash pass so I can bypass the crazy crowds.

Hence the thought of using my MM Tuesday. I'll probably ride Matterhorn first since it has no Fast Passes.

And just to clarify one more time - MM is only for the Disneyland side right? The only way to get into DCA early is to stay on site?

Yes. The bolded statement is correct.

Just to clarify the abbreviations: MM is used to refer to Magic Mornings (same as early entry). The words Morning Madness refers to Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness, (MTMM) which is different than magic mornings/early entry. Those similar words and acronyms are really confusing. :)

As DLR29 well knows but did not mention in context here, you can also get in early to DCA this summer if you are an AP holder and register for AP Early Entry.

I read the superthread, but still need to clarify.

When we are there, it says every day from 7-8am is "early admission hours." That means only people who are staying in one of the three DLR properties can be admitted at that time?

MM (magic mornings) are the same as early admission hours

MTMM (Mickey's toontown morning madness) I am not interested in, so I don't have to do anyting for that.

Thx!

From "Early Admission (MM/EMH/APEE) Super Thread" by DLR29 www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1675403

So there have been a ton of Magic Morning question threads, so I just wanted to make a big large thread to send people to. So here we go:

Just a quick note to start off with. Disneyland changed Early Entry's name to Magic Morning in 08, so I will be using the abbrv. MM instead of EE. Nothing else about the program has changed other than the name. Some people will still be calling it EE though, but just saying, they are the same. For the summer of 2012, there are 3 terms that Disney is using for different types of "Early Admission". Let's get those clarified...

  1. Magic Morning (MM)
  2. Extra Magic Hour (EMH)
  3. Annual Pass Early Entry (APEE)
Also there is a lot of overlap between these 3 programs. Disney has used "Early Admission" to describe them, so any information that applies to all 3 I will use the abbreviation "EA" for Early Admission. Sorry for all of the confusing abbrevs.

We'll go in order.

1. Magic Morning (MM)

Who? Guests can take advantage of MM by purchasing ANY ticket of 3 or more days. This will entitle the ticket holder to one MM admission. There are some exceptions such as Gay Day, military, and convention tickets, but most big name ticket sellers have MM eligible tickets (Disney, AAA, Costco, So. Cal City Pass, most online sources such as ARES Travel)

2. Extra Magic Hour (EMH)

Who? Guests can take advantage of EMH by staying at one of the 3 onsite hotels (Grand Californian (including the new VGC DVC places), Disneyland Hotel, or Paradise Pier Hotel). This will entitle the hotel guests EMH every day during their stay, including arrival (yes, possibly before your room is ready) and departure days.

3. Annual Pass Early Entry (APEE)

Who? Annual Passholders (of any of the 4 levels)

Morning Madness is entry into TOON TOWN at park opening, with a special little show. TT opens an hour after the park opens.
