2 of my party of 6 are cast members. We are all staying on-site (2 Cars suites at AoA). When I book my MLL at 7 days out can I include the 2 CM’s or do they have a different rule (like 3 days out)? Thanks.

I go to WDW in 3 weeks, and I am very confused. I think for the advanced reservation booking of multipass, I do not think the CM guest passes work for that, as the guest pass is not registered in the room. I don't even think the guest pass person can do the 3 day advance reservation multi-pass. (we are staying on-site also at Art of A). I think CMs and spouses are ok it's the guest passes that are an issue.

The last few trips, we could not get ILL for my son until the park opened, like for Tron etc.. And he could not stay after hours (we were in a DVC room) because his guest pass isn't in the deluxe room.

My son qualified for DAS (last week) and we will have to call in every day to get it added to the app we were told. It is getting a bit crazy at WDW. DL is way easier, as everyone books mulitpass after entering the park, and they do not use guest passes.

Sorry I am of no help!

OK, I called Cast Ticketing (about another issue) but also asked questions about this. With MEP, should be fine to book multi pass at 7 days if in a resort room. For the GUEST passes, you CAN book Multipass 3 days in Advance. She said ILL is day of park visit, 7 am. I will try all this in 3 weeks.

Yes. Today was our 7 days. I was able to include them on my MLL and SLL purchases. They are using Maingates and did make park reservations for the days they will be with us.

Yes, the way it was explained to me, the reason you can’t book MLL for guest passes even if staying onsite at 7 days ahead is because there’s no way for the system to recognise or link that guest pass to a hotel reservation. As the MEP can be assigned to a person (the CM) who is in turn linked to a resort reservation, the CM can use their MEP to prebook their MLL at 7 days. We ended up having to use up comp tickets to be able to book MLL at the 7 day mark with guest passes. If we had waited, we wouldn’t have been able to book the earlier times we wanted to make the most of the MLL.

Yes, I agree with all this. But I think they COULD figure out a way to link guest passes to a room reservation. If they wanted to. Or to link a guest pass to a particular person who then, in turn, was linked to an on-site room reservation. They have no real motivation to do anything though. It is frustrating to have the 7 day window for me and my husband but not my son.

I also got into a long back and forth about DAS and the guest passes. They HAVE a work around for needing to call EVERY DAY to have the (already approved!) DAS linked to a guest pass. They did it for me in February, before the changes, and they still do it NOW, for ticketless kids under 3. They assign a card to the DAS person, not to a park ticket, and you use that to book DAS, it is linked to a person with a photo, and lasts 120 days. I still have my son's card from February, they wrote on the back "Sean DAS" and it was on my MDE app. Now they say they won't do that anymore, and I need to call daily. (yes I remember getting it daily at the Park, which took a few minutes, the daily calls may take much longer?)

All in all, I am VERY grateful for my MEP in my retirement, of course. I just hate this 7 day vs. 3 day thing. At least at DL we are on an even playing field with other guests with multi pass.

The cast member I spoke to when I called cast admissions about the 7 day/3 day issue said they were looking into ways to allow guest passes to book at 7 days - it would be nice if they did change it. I can’t keep using comp tickets every time and don’t want to pay for the MLL if the earliest I can book at 3 days are afternoon return times.

How would that even work reserving rides for you and your husband at 7 days and then having to add on your son at 3 days? Surely you wouldn’t be able to coordinate the times?

Wow....if my granddaughter makes the championships for cheerleading in December we were going to spend a few days at WDW after and of course I would have to use my guest passes for that trip. I am still confused about the whole new system (and didn't even figure out the last system)....on our last trip they were on the younger side so no thrill rides yet so didn't need them. They are a bit older and taller this time. There has to be a way for them to figure out how to assign guest passes to a person or resort.....just like I think they can figure out a way to let retirees have access to a booking engine so we don't have to call for WDW or DCL reservations. I am forever grateful for the retiree benefits but they make it very difficult to access those benefits in some areas.

OK so we were there at WDW last week. The 3 day multi-pass window is not great, few rides left except in the afternoon heat. We bought multi pass because it was so hot, we were done touring by 2 pm. We did have my son on a DAS, so no real issues for us EXCEPT this. We need to call in every day to get the DAS onto a guest pass after entering the park. THAT would be bad enough, but then this happened.... First day on guest passes, I called with video chat, after entering Epcot, and said since my son was already approved (using comps), I need it on this guest pass. It was quickly put through. On Day 2, when I called the CM said my son actually has to go thru the whole entire application process each day. Describing his behavioral challenges and health related issues, while in a theme park (we were in MK guest relations), it is very stressful, trust me, and I said what, some days he could be approved, some not approved?, he is the SAME person that already WAS approved for 120 days, and you have his photo on file. ARGHH. So no idea which CM was correct in how they handled it, I kept my self together and just tried to go over his situation all over again, I was caught by surprise, he again "qualified". We only went to park 4 days, with son entering 2 days on comps, 2 on guest passes. Next trip is December. I did call cast ticketing about this, waiting for a return call promised by the CM I spoke to.
