MLK weekend?

If I remember correctly from reading the boards, 2005 was a much busier time than in years past. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but was it not also a cheerleading weekend too??

Is it crowded on MLK weekend?

Yes, you should expect good size crowds for the MLK holiday. Crowds will taper off the Wed after the holiday. We were at WDW for a week, over MLK, in 2004.

Compared to the rest of January, it will be very crowded. ( besides New Years). Ive been there on MLK twice. The first time was a complete mad house at MK. This was before I found the disboards, so I didnt have a clue. I was at MK on Saturday of MLK weekend, and let me say.. it was the worst!! We couldnt find anything to ride under a 45 minutes wait!!! In January?? :earseek:

We did have to come back over MLK one other time, and we avoided MK Fri-Sun. We showed up on MOnday, expecting everyone to be gone, and MK was again crowded!!!! :confused3

Found out AFTER I WAS HOME... that Monday at MK was a favorite day for locals as they were showing Spectromagic! UGH!! lol

So.. from now on.. we are taking late Jan/early Feb trips. No more MLK weekends!!

If you can get to WDW on Thursday night, you can get to MK early on Friday morning. The crowds don't get heavy until Friday evening. We did Epcot on the Saturday (everyone else was at MK!), AK on the Sunday, and a resort day on the Monday. Then we tried MK on Tuesday and it was still very busy.
