MLK Weekend in January

We have a 4 day weekend and our passes expire the next week so want to take advantage and go...are there any resorts we should stay away from during this time?

I should add there are 6 of us so probably will stay in a value resort. Has anyone been over this holiday weekend in January? Is it usually very busy?

Ok I'm taking the lack of response as a positive sign that there isn't anything major going on over MLK weekend! LOL I booked Pop

We've been a few times years back. It has really been getting busier with each passing year. So much so, I beleive you'll find that it is no longer a "value" weekend. It seems folks add a day (either the Tuesday after or the Friday before) and those days are heavy.

Also, the last time we went, the temps were in the 40s at night. The Luau at the Poly was cancelled and we ended up having to buy some heavy sweatshirts! So pack accordingly. Have some light knit caps and some of those small strechy gloves in your backpack to pull on during the nightly parades, etc.

We went this year during this time and I was SO worried, and it was fine, crowds are low.

We went last year (07) during that time and we had very low crowds. It's a great time to go.

Thats good to hear thanks! Hope we can get a good rate at Pop! Last year we went the weekend AFTER and it wasn't bad, but even if its a little more crowded surely it wont be like summer!
