MLB Postseason Thread

LETS GO METS!!!
LETS GO METS!!!
LETS GO METS!!!

o ya mets are going all the way baby!

finally after 6 years of waiting they are in the post season.
Hope they beat the Yankees.

What an awesome game! Rogers surprised even me! You could tell he was determined to win.
Figment, to be honest I didn't even know Kenny Rogers the pitcher existed until this year (I knew about the singer, LOL). I can tell from reading he blew a couple of playoff games. What did he do to make him a lousy human being? I'm curious. I have no idea. For the last 12 years or so. by July I've been reduced to just watching regular season box scores to see how close the Tigers came to .500 and have missed some things.
Bonderman worries me. Don't know if he'll have the stuff against the Yankees. I don't know if my heart can take the stress of a game 5.

When he was playing down here for Texas, he attacked a cameraman. I believe that's what Figment was talking about.

What happened to my Yankees tonight? I wasn't able to watch, I only saw the final score. :sad2:

Well, the Padres won, so they avoided the sweep.

And right now, the Tigers are beating the Yanks, 4-0, but there is a lot of baseball still to be played.

GO TIGERS, GO TIGERS, GO TIGERS, GO TIGERS, :banana: :banana:

It looks like my Tigers have the hottest pitching in baseball right now. I can't wait for Tuesday! :banana: pirate:

The Mets just won! I can't believe it. On the same day the Yanks lost, the Mets won....boy will George be madder than usual!

So now that we know the final four, what are your picks?

NL--Mets in 5. (did you think I'd pick the Cards?)
AL- Tigers in 7.

My guesses:

Cards in 7 and A's in 6 (no real reason why -- just guessing). :thumbsup2

Both series play on Wed. -- Fox hasn't come out with a schedule for that day yet. Anyone wanna bet that the Mets-Cards game ends up on Fox primetime, whereas the A's-Tigers game gets shipped off to FX, except for Oakland and Detroit. :rolleyes:

I agree except maybe the Cards in 6. My heart can't take a seven game series. ;)

I think it is funny, about the primetime spots... the Cards were going to play a day game no primetime spot for them until they were the only team left last night... does the media really think that baseball fans only care about Mets or Yanks.

O' well I went to the game last night and at least we got show everyone IN PRIMETIME a great game. :cheer2:

Aftre seeing the Tiger's pitching in the last series I am much more hopeful about their chances. Nobody else has pitching like that right now. I will be so brash as to predict...

ALCS = Detroit in 5
NLCS = Mets in 6

World Series = Detroit in 6

I think the media goes with the basic assumption that if you broadcast the teams from the largest markets (NY, LA, Chicago) on primetime, you'll get better ratings.

I agree, in a way, with putting the Yankees on primetime whenever they're playing. While I'm no fan myself, they're a team that does have a national following. I know numerous Yankee fans in various cites around the US, many of which have never stepped foot in NYC. And, for that matter, the rest of the country are pretty much "Yankee haters", so they tune in to see if the Yanks will lose.

I don't see the same thing when it comes to the Mets. It seems that most Mets fans are NYC natives without the national following that the Yankees have. And there's certainly not the hatred for the Mets that the Yankees have. So I'll be interested to see if the ratings are better for the NL games over the AL games, simply because it's larger markets playing.
