My DH and I are flying form Milwaukee to Orlando via Sun Country Airlines. Just wanted to know how that airline was? We usually fly Midwest Express which I recommend if anyone gets the chance. We chose Sun Country due to the lower cost and the fact that it leaves MKE at 7 AM and leave MCO around 7 PM. Thanks!

Sun Country is ok, especially for its cost! It does not compare to Midwest Express. We have flown Sun Country in the past, with no problems, but if it is possible money wise, we will stick with Midwest Express. Have a great trip and don't worry about the flight, I am sure it will be fine, and you will have all the extra money you would have spent on Midwest Express to spend in WDW! BTW - when are you going? We are going 9/7-9/16.

Only 8 more Days!!!!!! We are leaving on June 21st. This our second time going. Staying at BC. Can't wait!!!
:p :bounce: :sunny: :bounce:

kim532....We really love Midwest Express and have flown with them our last few trips too but I've noticed the lower fares Sun Country has to offer, along with the good times of their flights to and from Orlando. I'll be interested to hear your opinion of Sun Country vs. Midwest Express when you get back. We're planning our next trip for next June and will love to hear what you thought of your flights!

I too am trying Sun Country for the 1st time this Sunday. Its the reason why we're able to go WDW. We got good air fare which makes it affordable for a "quick trip" I've been spoiled by Midwest Express (2 across seating & the cookies!), but this time $$ made the difference on a last minute trip!
NOTHING beats a direct, non-stop flight.

How was your experience with Sun Country? We are also able to take an unexpected "quick trip" to WDW next week partly thanks to the lower rates they had to offer. We too have been spoiled by Midwest Express and would like to hear how you rate Sun Country. Thanks!

Sun Country was fine. I admit its not Midwest Express, but we left on time and returned on time. Everyone was Very Nice/Friendly.
The over head bins were a tad small and being short, 5'2", I couldn't reach them from the aisle which amused many, including my 5'7" niece! It was like a charter flight, 3 across & large. (I guess I've been spoiled by ME, because isn't this what most planes are!) Anyway, we left at 7am and were surprised with a box breakfast of yogurt & a banana nut muffin. (The return flight was the 1oz bag of pretzels.)
Would I fly SC again, sure; but if ME was only $50 or so more I'd go with them just because of the overall comfort.
If you have any more questions let me know!

Have a Great Trip!!! and don't forget those fan/spray bottles!!

Thanks for the info! One more question.....with them not having pre-assigned seating, were you able to get seats you wanted together with no problem?

My Sun Country Flight was on time both ways and the staff was friendly both ways. I guess that is the most important part. My only minor complaint was that on the return flight the cabin was warm. Almost to uncomfortably warm. Of course I got sick on vacation so I thought it was just me and didn't say anything but when my DH started complaining I knew I wasn't alone. We got the portable fans out that we bought to carry around the park and it made it much better.

I thought the muffin and yogurt on the morning flight was perfect. We are not big breakfast eaters and it was great. Since we didn't know what to expect on the return evening flight we ate at the McDonald's right by the gate before boarding. Good thing we did because a bag a pretzels wouldn't of cut it.

I will definitely fly them again. A direct flight is worth it and the cheaper price. My brother just moved to California. I may even try them for there.

We actually had seat assignments but they just put us in different rows than originally stated. We were together so didn't mind.
I would suggest getting to the airport early though, because there were a couple of families split up and others switching seats to try to accommodate them.

We ate at the McD's and agree with Diane that we were very happy we did!

It makes me feel better to hear good things about Sun Country! I hope the air conditioning works for us!! 2-1/2 hours in a warm plane doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.

auntiex300 - How were you able to get seat assignments ahead of time? I had called asking about doing that and was told they don't do that. Is there a way "around the system"?? Thanks again!

I probably asked when I ordered the tickets, but when I realized that on our return flight we were in two different rows I called back and they said they wouldn't be able to change/reassign the seats, that we should just get to the airport at least 1 hour before departure. Their system only lets them assign a certain number of seats before hand. However, it didn't matter that we had been assigned seats, because they changed them both times. so I really don't know why we were assigned seats in the first place. but we did sit together which was very important for us.
wish I were going again!
