For the first time ever , considering rope drop at MK to hopefully allow shorter wait times. I’ve heard lines for buses at yacht club can be bad esp with people at Swolphin going here since they no longer use Disney buses.

What is your best strategy for getting from yacht club to Mk rope drop? Appreciate feedback

You could try to get dropped at CR and walk to MK. Some guards will let you in. Others might require a dining reservation. Same is probably true for GF.

Maybe make a breakfast reservation at The Wave or Chef Mickey's? That would be the safest way to ensure drop off at CR.

The other option is to go to the TTC and then take the monorail.

Thank you , but what do you think would get you to the gate quicker - bus from YC or Uber ? Thank you

I hate the buses, so I'd say Uber, but there's no guarantee that you can be dropped off at CR unless you have a dining reservtaion. There is no way to drop you at MK via Uber. Only buses or monorail go directly to MK. You'd get dropped at CR and walk to MK. It's about a 7-10 minute walk.

If you Uber they drop you at the TTC and then you have to monorail or boat to MK. It's really a matter of where you'd rather wait. For us, we're planning breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe and walking over after.

Forget the contemp or GF dining options , sounds like the choice is wait at the yacht for a bus , or ride share and wait at the TTC for a monorail or ferry? Which would you do?

Be at the YC bus stop early and wait. Why pay extra to wait at TTC?

Just wasn’t sure if the TTC people get to gate quicker than the 3rd or 4th bus from yacht club in case others are ahead of us - I hear bus capacity is only a few parties at a time I think ?

Bus capacity is less than pre-covid. There are partitions but they try to fill them as efficiently as possible. No standing. The key is getting there early enough that you're not on the third or fourth bus.

I need more supporting evidence that first bus beats Uber these days. I really don’t want to pay for transportation when transportation is included in the price of the resort/tickets, but my brother is wedded to the idea of Uber from pre-COVID trips. Seems like the tide has changed and the already paid for transportation finally has an edge!

Considering that the guards do not always let your Uber in, I have a few questions:

1) Are there reports on more guard leniency at one or the other?
2) If we choose to order food at GF or CR to increase our chances of being allowed past the gate, is it true that QS mobile ordering for breakfast is available at each? I’m guessing we will not land early enough reservations for 7 people.
3) This is getting very nit-picky, but will it be too obvious that we are only there to walk to MK if there is one mobile breakfast order for 3-4 people (assuming two Ubers)?

1. relying on guard leniency is really taking a chance, because if they don’t let you in, then you just spent money to get dropped off at TTC.
2. Both Contemporary and Grand Floridian offer mobile order quick service breakfast.

A table service reservation is really the only way to guarantee you’ll be let in. If you can’t make a reservation I think your only options are bus or Uber to TTC.

I’m avoiding indoor queues longer than 15 minutes and did a kinda, sorta study of arrival times over my past four trips. I always try to be on the first bus out and tried to watch to see the order that people were arriving from various destinations. The first arrivals seemed to go like this fairly consistently:
1. People walking over from the Contemporary
2. Buses from AoA and Pop (I couldn’t really see the stop to see when the other buses arrived. I know Pop and AoA were first in almost every case. We were held on the bus until 7:00.)
3. Monorail
4. TTC Ferry

I tried to arrive at my resort bus stop 90 minutes before opening and always made the first bus. It definitely helped that I was solo and am an early riser anyway.

Are Ubers still allowed to drop off at the front of Animal Kingdom?

Is a bus from Swan/Dolphin to AK preferred over Uber for rope drop?

I imagine an Uber or Lyft driver would expect to be paid even more money to then drive you to TTC after already having had to drive to Contemporary.

Yes, rideshares can drop you in front of AK, MK is the only one with the TTC issue.

The buses also drop you at the front.
