Is it quicker to :-
Walk
Resort Launch
Monorail

I am hoping to catch some of Spectromagic before our 9:30 ressie. Spectro is 9pm that evening.

Walking will be fastest. Even though it's only one monorail stop, you have to walk AWAY from the Contemporary to get to the station, then likely have to wait for a train. I think the launches stop at the CR only after doing the two stops at FW, so that's quite a long trip.

It's going to be tough to catch any of the 9:00 Spectro and make it to a 9:30 ADR. If you catch the beginning of the parade, you'll be way in the back of the park. If you wait at the front, it won't get there until 9:10 or so at the earliest.

That would be very tight no matter what transportation you use, but I agree that walking would probably be fastest, unless your timing is perfect for the monorail and there's no line. I didn't know there was a launch to the CR from the MK, but if there is I would think that's the slowest way to go.

Walking is probably the fastest. Disney doesn't usually care if you're 10 minutes late for an ADR, other then a dinner show. You should be able to watch all, or most, of the parade and walk over the Contemporary without missing your meal.

Which way does Spectro run? From Town Square to Frontierland or Frontierland to Town Square?

The MK parades start in the back of Frontierland, go down the main drag there into Liberty Square and past the Hall of Presidents. They cross the bridge toward the circle in front of the castle and go around that in a clockwise direction then head up Main Street. Once at the front of the park, they go clockwise around the circle there and out the gate to the right of City Hall.

If you park yourselves by the Main Street train station, and leave right after the parade passes you, and walk quickly to the CR, you'd won't have a problem making your ADRs. The restaurants hold them for a while, and once you're on their reservation schedule, you shouldn't have a problem.:thumbsup2
I've seen folks come in up to an hour late and still get seated. :goodvibes

I beg to differ about the parade route.. I think it depends on if there is 1 or 2 parades each evening. Both of the last 2 times I saw it it came from Main Street and exited out back in Frontierland.

Ask a CM which way it will go that day. If it starts at Main Street, you could slip out and get there close to your time. If it goes the other way I don't think you should do it, you would be really late.

As for walking or monorail, I think it depends entirely on if there is a train waiting or leaving quickly. If that happens you get there quicker.

I have found the walk is 10-15 minutes if you step lively, and 15-20 if you walk casually.

I agree that walking will be the fastest, unless you see a resort monorail pulling into the station just as you're making your way out of the MK.

Sometimes it's difficult to judge where spectro will actually be starting and ending. I have had the parade start on Main Street some nights, and on other nights it would start out near the back of the park in Adventureland. You may need to seek out a cast member that day and ask them where the parade will be starting that evening.

Spectro starts at the beginning of Main St. over by the Fire House, it then heads down Main St and into Frontierland and exits beside Splash Mt.
So...watch it from over by the train station at the end of Main St by the flagpole. Then, around 9:10-9:15, head out of the park. Taking the path to the CR will take you about 8 mins to walk.

There is no launch between MK and CR. CR and FW, WL yes but CR to MK no.

Goofy4tink is correct again (as usual)

Spectro starts at Town Square for BOTH parades (if there are 2 that night)

There was a time a long time ago when that was not true but it's not that way now.

Watch the parade from the right side of the train station, then walk to the CR.

Walking is the best way if you would be going there to get on a bus to Downtown Disney, because you would go right up to the bus station and would have no reason to go inside to look around the Contemporary, unless you wanted to. I also think if you're going to Chef Mickey's and the Monorail is right there at the Magic Kingdom station, that could be the best way because you get off on the 4th floor where it is locatd.

No matter what route you choose between walking or taking the Monorail either way it will get you to the Contemporary and I don't see anything wrong with either one.
