Where would i exit Mk to walk to Chef Mickey's? And where would i go exactly to get there? How long to walk?

THANKS

Exit the park and walk to your left to the pathway towards the buses, continue to walk down that path. You will eventually see the Contemporary in front of you. There is a crosswalk (with light) to the Contemporary parking lot, walk through the lot and enter the Contemporary to your right. It's about a 8-10 minute walk.

MK has only one exit, so you don't have to figure out where to exit MK. The above walking directions are great, but also keep in mind you can also get to the Contemporary by monorail, it's the very first stop after it leaves the MK station.

If you choose to take the monorail, then you go to the right as you leave the Magic Kingdom. Follow the signs for the RESORTS monorail not the EXPRESS monorail. Either way you go - walk or monorail - you will enjoy Chef Mickey's!!

Hi -
We're planning on going to Chef Mickey from MK for a 6pm ADR. Any idea how much time we need to allow to get from MK to Chef Mickey's by the resorts monorail? Is there typically a long lineup (park projected to close at midnight)? How far is the monorail from the exit of MK?
Thanks.

There is not usually a long line for the resort monorail except near closing. You may have to wait for a bit for the next one to pull in. The monorail is closer than the buses. Very convenient. Plus once you get on the resort monorail, the Contemporary is the first stop. You take the escalator down one floor and you're at CM. Easier to me than the walk and wait for elevators.

The boat and monorail "exits" are both closer to the MK than the bus exit as the bus exit was an afterthought.

I would allow at least 20-25 minutes if you are taking the monorail. As someone stated, you may just miss one and have to wait. Also, there are times when the monorail is having operating problems which can delay you. The monorail is to your right after the exit the MK. If you find yourself running late I would just take the 8-10 minute walk to the Contemporary.

Would like to reiterate to use the RESORTS monorail. If you take the EXPRESS it zips right thru the contemporary without stopping to the TTC.

Greetings all! We're staying at AS Sport and going to CM's for breakfast in February.

My plan was to take the bus from AS Sport to MK and then the RESORTS monorail from MK to the CR. I realize walking from MK to CR is also possible but some members of our party would prefer to ride.

My understanding is that the bus to MK will start running about one hour before the park opens (9:00 a.m. opening). Is this true (which would mean the earliest I could probably do CM's would be 8:45, allowing for wait and travel times)?

Also, should I be concerned about any other waits that morning besides the wait at AS Sport to board the bus to the MK? Shouldn't the lines to board the monorail to LEAVE the MK be fairly short at that time of the day?

Thanks. -- Rob

First, Welcome to the DIS!!

Before the parks open there are buses that say "Character Breakfasts" that are utilized to get resort guests to early morning Dining Reservations. Just go to the bus stop 45 min to an Hour before your Dining ressie and tell the driver of the bus where you are going...We did this for an early morning CMs in May and got dropped right off at the Contemporary!

Otherwise if the priority seating is for after park opening then just take the MK bus and then either take the monorail or the path described above to the Contemporary. Have a wonderful vacation and happy planning!

just to let you know...you will walk almost as far (not quite) to get from the bus stop at MK to the monorail as you will from the bus stop to the Contemporary, since the bus stop is situated between the Contemporary and the monorail.

Just an add'l note that you don't want to take the pathway TO the buses. Make sure you follow the pathway UNDER the monorail along the hedges, walking on the "walk around the world" bricks. It's a nice walk if it's not too hot and humid. Once you get to contemporary, take elevator to the 4th floor. have fun! :earsgirl:

Thanks to all for replying to my question. I just made my 8:00 Valentine's week reservations for breakfast at CM's! Thanks again.

First leave the MK, or your resort, get in your car and drive to my house and pick me up. I'll direct you from there, and all you have to do is buy me breakfast or dinner to compensate me for my helping you. This offer is open to anyone.

Oh, I live in upstate NY, so you'll have to plan on a little extra travel time.

Enjoy your stay!
