I agree.... they need to bring the Disneyland show to WDW..... its the original show with the Offenbach (sorry if I misspelled that song title) number removed and it is doing very very well in California.... As a child this was always my favorite attraction (saw it first soon after WDW opened in 1971 believe it or not!) as a young child (I was just shy of my 5th birthday when I went to WDW, I am soooooo Old ) Anyways my Mom always said that when she would mention we were going to go to WDW the first words out of my young self were: "TIKI BIRDS!" Today Jose and his flock are my earliest and happiest memories of WDW.

Relax, y'all. The next Tiki Room refurb will no doubt replace the voice of Gilbert Gottfried with Bobcat Goldthwait and a room full of birds banging pots and pans together. Disney's always got a vision, just chill out.

Seriously though, let us all hope that they do in fact make the DL show come to WDW in time for the 2011 Anniv!

I like them both! In fact my children loved under new management. It was one of their favorites. I also liked the new characters mixed in with the old. It's fun.

What I also like is the differences between the Kingdoms. They should rotate the Tiki shows throughout the different parks every couple of years.

I love the original. We were just at DL in June and loved it. DD6.5 thought it was terrific. I saw under new management a time or two, but haven't bothered in years. Just doesn't do anything for me.

Sorry to dredge up my old thread, but the rumor mills seem to be whirring since the delayed opening of the Tiki Room after the fire. My wife and I have all our fingers and toes crossed that the extended repair time means they are going back to original! I'm sure y'all have already read about this, but I just read today that one of the Iago animatronics and Zazu were damaged in the fire - seems like Karma to me.
Plus, WDW posted on facebook yesterday a question - "who is your favorite bird in the Tiki Room". I'd say over 90 percent of the postings were people saying bring back the old show!
I think that if they did put the original show back, it would do for the Tiki Room what the updates at HM have done for it - greatly increase riders/viewers (which will mean longer waits, but hey, You ALWAYS wait longer for the better rides/attractions).
BTW - haven't been since the updates to the queue and HHG's - from what I've seen on the internet I'm gonna love the HHG mods. Jury's still out on the queue until I can see it in person.
Anyway, we can only hope.....

Funny to read my old posts on this old thread...still feel the same way and I am THRILLED the Original Show is coming back. I give Disney a 5-year pass on future changes for this one.
