So MK will be our first park day. It will be August and it's gonna be hot (we come from where a hot day is 90 degrees little humidity). So a mid day break inside with seating and AC is gonna be a must. I was gonna take the monorail and check out some places but realized that it's a halloween evening and MK closes early so I don't want to waste that kinda time.
Long story short looking for which table service you enjoyed the most. Also we are Not looking to do Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Royal table. TIA

Does it have to be table service? I love Columbia Harbour House. The upstairs is a great place to take a rest during the day.

I place my mobile order pretty early in the day (picking a reasonable time for lunch) and then just hit go when the window opens.

Skipper Canteen is our favorite restaurant in the MK. It's a must do for us. We love the food, the theming, the bad jokes, etc.

I know people love Liberty Tree Tavern and I have no doubt the food is really good, I just can't stomach the idea of eating Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of a theme park day - especially when it's so hot. If they ever bring back their a la carte menu however, we definitely want to check it out!

I also agree with the above poster that the upstairs room at Columbia Harbor House is a wonderful little get away. The food's pretty good - especially for MK QS.

Yet another vote for Skipper Canteen. Best table service in MK by a country mile. Every time I’ve gone, the food has been fantastic, and I’m a sucker for the humor of the Jungle Cruise, so that’s an added bonus for me.

It's more about having a seat without work. I just want a break and a guaranteed table. The first day in the heat I'm gonna be too grumpy if I have to search forever for a seat or eat 2 hours earlier to beat the crowds :)

Skipper Seems to be a winner. What is everyones favorite? I'm looking at the menu and curious whats the draw :) Thanks

Another vote for Skipper Canteen! We have enjoyed everything we have tried there! Last trip it was the Char Siu Pork and the Cachapas.

The Tastes Like Chicken and Char Sui Pork dishes have always been delicious. I tried the short rib last time and it was pretty good as well, though I probably wouldn't get it again as I prefer other things. In the past their steak dish has always been very good, though they've recently changed it and we haven't tried the new one. For appetizers, it's not on the menu, but usually you can get Pao de Queijo cheesy bread. It's very similar to the one served at Epcot's Food and Wine festival except this version comes with a chimichurri and poblano cream sauce which really makes it. Very good! Everyone seems to love the Cachapas appetizer though we've not tried it yet. Next time!

My son would go just for the Kungaloosh beer, though. He has his priorities :goodvibes .

Skippers is the one and there's no other comparison at mk but you're gonna want to keep your expectations in check. When it gets busy it can be hit or miss. You might show up 10 minutes before your reservation time and still wait 20 minutes to get seated. The noodles and whole fried fish are going to be the most reliable things imo, while the char siu and chachapas can be either really good or just ok. It just helps I think to go in there knowing it's the best of the rest at mk but mk is just kind of weak on food in general.

We are doing Skipper Canteen and LTT for our MK nights. We haven't ever been to SC and I am super excited to try it!

I always get a Skipper ADR during my trips. It is a great location (try to get Jungle Cruise just before the meal) and good food and drinks. It is also not super highly priced.

Unless you are a family of big eaters we find that most of the MK TS type places serve way too much food for lunch. Many also have a fixed priced menu so even if you aren't a big eater, you will still find it pricey.

We typically look for a QS place for lunch in the general area of the park where we happen to be. MK is huge and we don't see the point of walking all the way to the other side of the park when we decide to have lunch. QS places we have found also have indoor dining, so if you looking for someplace to sit with AC to get out of the heat of August, that is something else to consider.

I figured as much, hence why I'm asking. Figure if I look for people's favorite maybe it'll be something decent. And I won't be upset to wait a little. I just don't want to be hot and tired and have to do the stand and wait for someone to get up so that myself and 4 other groups try jumping them for their seats. Not the first day, by day 5 it probably be different lol

It's been a few years for me. On property guests can't book ADRs 6 months in advance anymore? What the heck???

Are there any pre-park opening breakfast reservations allowed in MK anymore?

How long is your trip?

I would simply leave Magic Kingdom, go to Capt Cooks at Poly and have lunch there. Otherwise I would do Casey's Corner inside of MK.

MK is by far the worst park to get food in IMO.

I don't want to waste that kinda time.

You could walk all the way to Poly, have lunch, and walk all the way back before you get done with a sit down meal likely. Just waiting to be seated could take a little while you never know. Flip side going to some place like Casey's or Cooks you can mobile order but with Casey's you might need to take your food elsewhere if there is no seating.

You can do a sit down dinner somewhere after the park closes to day guests.
