Our party of 5, DH, DD age 6 and our mothers, early 70s would like to sit down for lunch at MK. BUT, Tony's gets horrible reviews, and the Plaza seems to be a waste of a DDP credit-we're on deluxe. What would YOU do?

We really enjoyed lunch at the Plaza. We got salads for appetizers, sandwiches with fries and sundaes for dessert. It's a fairly small place and was a nice, quiet break from the park.

If you want a longer break, you can take the Monorail to one of the resorts for lunch. Kona Cafe at the Poly or the Grand Floridian Cafe are good choices.

I would visit a monorail Resort... very easy to do from MK.

The Plaza sounds really good, I think I am reading too much into prices like "I gotta get my money's worth so it should be a $20 meal" thanks for the input. There's nothing like a good sandwich!

I agree- i know many people dont like to go to the plaza if on the plan so they can get more bang for their buck but it is a great meal. Good burgers, shakes, sandwiches and nice and relaxed right in the MK.

We love the Plaza and do not consider it a waste of a credit. The food is better than it is at a lot of the sit downs that are more expensive in our opinion.

You can lunch at Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern. Like other postings, you can also hop on the monorail and eat lunch at Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe.

Thank you. We are staying at poly and have a lunch at Kona Cafe already. Looks like the Plaza for us.

Not to stir up trouble  Just thought I'd mention LTT's lunch is not a character meal, not the "thanksgiving family meal". We won't go there for dinner, but do enjoy their lunch. The Colony Salad is one of the best salads that I've ever had :)

We also really like Plaza, so you'll be fine either way :goodvibes

I was about to suggest the Liberty Tree Tavern (LTT) for lunch although we enjoy the Plaza as well

We love Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch. That place just cools me down and helps me relax after a hot morning in MK. It's my families 1st choice. We like the Plaza but prefer LTT.:thumbsup2

Add up an appetizer, entree and dessert at the Plaza; you'll be at $20.

If I was on deluxe, I would use two credits and have lunch in the castle, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is fantastic... the food doesn't quite live up to the other two characteristics, but it isn't bad, just not terrific.

We paid out of pocket to eat at the Plaza when we were on DDP, but if I were on the Deluxe plan I would use the credit. How many 'big' meals a day can you eat? That said we also enjoy lunch at LTT or taking a boat to one of the resorts.

Thanks, all. I'm going to check out the LTT lunch menu now. I see how the Plaza can add up! I absolutely refuse to pay oop for any food since we're on deluxe. We have a lot of 2 credits: CG, Narcoosees, Jiko, HBD (lunch and dinner), so we're skipping lunches on the days we eat a sit down bfast, too.
