MK so crowded today

Are touring plans and other sites typically that far off on crowd levels? If that's the case I may cancel my trip in Dec. there's no way out family will enjoy crowds of that level if we get there. We are going Dec 7 - 14 and past years it's around a 4 crowd level.

DW and I were also there early Dec and I can agree with other posters that it was very manageable. Had it's pockets of people at the usual times but well worth it ! Love Christmas at the Parks and if I could would go that time period EVERY year.:)

We were in MK on Wednesday and it was definitely BUSY. However, we were able to do a lot and found FP+ surprisingly convenient. When we were able to unexpectedly jump into a short wait, I moved our FP+ to a different attraction and time. We were able to ride:
Peter Pan
Small World
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Magic Carpets
Tiki Room
Dumbo x 2
Speedway
Space Mountain x 2
Splash Mountain
Stitch
Buzz Lightyear
Little Mermaid x 2
Took the train around
Laugh Floor
County Bears Jamboree
Mickey's Philharmagic

BOG FP+ for lunch

Watched the 3:00 parade Pretty good day even with the crowds:)

Eta: forgot carousel of Progress x 2 as well as People Mover x 2

I can't believe they would estimate the crowds that low at any point between mid march and Easter.

Well...the Magic kingdom is red hot right now. The only time that the other three parks seem to get any kind of crowds is when the MK is at capacity.

If it weren't for the "special events" at Epcot(like food and wine and flower and garden) it would be in danger of falling behind Universal's IOA.

DHS and Animal Kingdom...oh my goodness they are floundering. No real crowds unless it is a time where MK is at capacity.

Any new additions can't come fast enough for the other non-MK parks.

Ok by me. MK is my least favorite so it's nice to have space in the other parks.

Exactly why those are really for the people that don't know any better. Just someone making a buck selling their "research" to the non-informed.

I don't know about other sites, but it is unusual for Touring Plans to be that far off. My understanding is that Touring Plans has an algorithm that uses many different factors (historic wait times, park hours, holidays, hotel occupancy, etc.) to predict wait times at key attractions. Those predicted wait times correspond to different crowd levels. Something is throwing off their predictions. It could be the effect that FP+ has on standby times (esp. rides that didn't have FP before. ) It could also be because Easter is so late this year or that more people are travelling after such a cold winter. If Disney is extending park houts than they may not have anticipated the crowds either.

I just looked at their website and their predictions before Wednesday were much more accurate. It may be that everyone just put off going to MK until the weather was better.

Really? I can remember waiting an hour and a half for POTC during a summer break visit when I was a kid. I've waited almost two hours for Space Mountain as well. I wonder if we forgot what WDW was like before FP ever existed.

Agreed.
