MK Poll

Of these days, which would you go to MK to avoid the biggest crowds? Explain why.

  • Monday

  • Friday (on a night of mvmcp)

  • Thursday (with EMH)

Our own personal experience with EMH at Mk has been great. We have always been able to do a ton of riding with little or no wait. We had the same experience in both May and October.

I voted for Friday, because Friday's are notoriously less crowded than Mondays & Thursdays. Even with the MVMCP that night I would still pick Friday. Even though it will start getting more crowded around 4:00 as MVMCP patrons start to arrive, you still get most of the day with the park less crowded. Friday MVMCP's tend to be the most crowded because that's when the locals are more likely to come, but during the day, those kids are in school.

I said Monday but it would be a toss up. I've been to MK on a Fri with MVMCP and I will not do that again! Monday wasn't bad at all when we were there a few weeks ago. We didn't go on Thursday so I couldn't vote for that for sure. We did go on a Weds and it was totally barren there. Walked onto Dumbo at 10:30 with literally NO wait.

i say thursday. I've heard that generally monday is the most crowded day for MK because everyone gets in over the weekend and goes there first thing.

I like to head to MK either on a morning EMH, or the morning after an evening EMH at MK. Yes, Sat can be a zoo in the MK but if you get there right at park opening and plan to leave by noon, it's pretty workable.
I now stay away from the evening EMHs since they are usually packed. The morning ones aren't quite so bad, due in part to the fact that it is only an addtl hour vs 3 hrs during the evenings.

I voted for Monday. The Thursday EMH was crowded. Well, we got there around 8:15am, and it sure "felt" crowded. We headed to Fantasyland and even though it looked like a huge crowd, there weren't long lines. But by lunchtime, POTC had a 45 min wait. So, we left to go swim.

We've been to MK when it was MVMCP night, but this was several years ago. Anyway, it WAS crowded. Not crazy crowded, but no walk ons anywhere.

What happened with the Little Ones Magic Hour at MK??? We were there in Sept and were blown away with the emptiness of Fantasyland. I hope they plan to start that up again.

The Little Ones Extra Magic Hour was part of the Magical Beginnings marketing promotion during August & September. They may bring it back again next year during the same time period. The idea is to get families with very young children (i.e. not in school) to come to WDW during that dead time between when kids go back to school and the F & W Festival.

I voted Thurs. because when we went earlier this month on that day the crowds were low. When we went back on the weekend it was very crowded. Can't say about the other days though.

I vote Monday, after EMH Friday these folk will sleep in on Monday making it less crowded on Monday. It will still get heavy traffic by 1:00 pm

Actually, any of those days would be fine with us. The crowds don't normally bother us too much. However, I did vote for Monday. Right now the kids are in school so it shouldn't be too bad, and in the summer months, it is more crowded but I don't think it's out of control.

I voted for Monday. The last couple of years we have gone on Monday and the wait times were very short. I have been on Fridays when I was younger and I remember the parks being crowded.

If your sole criteria is to avoid crowds, then Monday is it. Traditionally Monday was busier because of the whole "Go there first thing," like SPAM said above. But, Disney has moved the EMH days away from the MK on Mon, added one on Sunday night there, so it's made Monday a pretty good day crowd wise.
