MK Photo Shoot

I am conflicted about whether to do this... has anyone done the MK photo shoot and NOT gotten a bunch of great pictures? Has anyone regretted not doing the shoot? If you did this would you mind sharing your pictures with me?

I am getting married in about 3 weeks and I opted to get the MK photos....the way I see it I am getting married in WDW and this is the only chance in my life that I will ever have pics in my wedding dress at Cinderellas castle...I have never seen bad pics on this board from the MK photo shoot.I think that there are some better photographers than others (from what I have heard). I think if it is something you have always wanted it is worth it! Good luck with your decision!!!!

I agree with Jasnal. I also chose to do it because, as she said: it is the only time in your life you will ever be able to do it. Even if you only get one great picture out of it--it's a picture to keep with you for life.

It is a little pricey but as others have said, I definitely think it's worth it. It's something only disney brides get to do..

and if you think of it this way, if you put away only about $2/day for the next year (or $2.75 w/ the new increase), you have enough $$$ for it! not bad right....

I don't think the MK photo shoot is something you should go into with high expectations - which is sad considering it's Disney and how expensive it is... The pictures are not very creative, they're formulaic and standard, and you really don't get much for your money - one folio of preselected pictures and the proofs. If you want to actually do anything with the pictures you need to order more. And you need to get up bloody early to have them done.

All that said, it really is a once in a life time kind of thing. And there will be a handful of pictures you just love. For us it was the ultimate keepsake from our Disney wedding. And I don't regret it at all. (Now the expensive and wasted cake, that's another thing....)

I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. I'm really close to being able to order the CD with all pics on it for only $99.

A few weeks ago I was having doubts about our MK shoot. But then I put on my wedding dress. Something inside me changed and all of my doubts went away. I just can't have a Disney wedding and NOT have pictures of me in that dress in front of the castle. So I am opting to keep it. And I am really looking forward to it! DF on the other hand...well, he's not to keen on getting up early. But he said he would! And that's why I love him.

I am going for it as well. Actually, we are also doing the Epcot photo shoot, b/c it is only an additional $300. So for both, it is $1300. DF and I really love Epcot, so it holds a special place in our heart as well.

Yes the MK shoot is expensive, but it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, with photos you will always treasure!

I know!! That's why we are choosing not to do the shoot. $800 was a lot of money but do-able...$1200 is just ludacris! I'd love to do it, but it's just not worth the money to us. For the same amount we are having a dessert party and for only 250 more dollars Randy Chapman will capture every magical moment. I figure, we still get beautiful photos AND entertain our loved ones in a once in a lifetime way. We considering THAT money well spent. But hey...if I had a never ending supply of money...well...then you bet we'd do it!

Well, they seem to have raised a lot of the prices in the past few months, unfortunately. The intimate packages went up by $1000 alone!!! They actually raised to by $200--to $1000 and it is $1200 if you want bigger prints, 8 x 10 I believe. To me, the photo size does not matter, b/c no matter what way you slice it, you will still have to wait 3 years to buy the CD (for the $99).

We choose to do the MK Photoshoot as it is a special place and I really wanted to see the MK in darkness and only have us in the park. The shoot was amazing, most of the photos I looked shocked to be in the park. I would do it all over again, just to be the only two guests in the park and seeing the MK that time of the morning. Also to be driven up Main Street was a experience.

Just wanted to say something about our photographer, Mike, he was so funny!!! He made us laugh and ever shoot we suggested he tried to make it happen for us - like taking us to Haunted Mansion.

The memories of that morning will stay with us, forever.

It was a fantastic experience, the only problem was sunrise is early in March so we didn't get any shots of the castle in color.

My carousel pictures are some of my favorite wedding pictures and worth the money. Now I can order the CD since it's been 3 years since we had them taken.

IMHO it was worth every cent. Yes its expensive, and even more expensive now, but I'm so happy we did it. We went in with pretty high expectations after seeing so many people's pictures and Disney (and our photographer) exceeded them. Our pictures are just beautiful and it was just such a magical experience. No you don't get much for the money (porfolio w/ dozen pictures plus 100 proofs or so) but for me that was enough....I'm going to order an 8x10 of some of them (1 or 2) but it was a totally neat experience!

I currently have the MK shoot scheduled for June 28th (the VR is on June 26th) I am still not entirely sure I want to do it....

For me it is a must have because it is the only way I will get a picture of me in my wedding dress on the carousel and since that's where I got engaged I need that shot! If it weren't for that fact then I would probably bypass the shoot. I think it all depends on just how much the locations mean to you.
