Hi All,

For those couples who have done the MK Photo Shoot: how accomodating was your photographer to your picture requests? From what I've seen the poses and locations seem to be fairly standard. Has anyone ever asked for pictures on Main Street, or in the rose garden next to the castle? I guess we'd like to substitute the carousel photos for some other poses...are they going to look at us like we're crazy? Thanks for your insight :)

Chris

They are very limited as to what photos they take. They have their standard poses that they do and usually do not go outside of those boundaries. For whatever reason, we were not allowed to have the Main Street photos that I wanted so bad... reason being- there is a TON of personnel cleaning and repairing the park while you take your photos. There are trucks, cranes, ladders, tools, cords and cables, all interefering with your photos. SO that's why it's so limited, along with the fact they want to preserve as much Disney magic as possible.

I have seen some brides bring their own camera into the park for the photoshoot and get some extras, but don't quote me on that!! I just would hate to see you disappointed if you were expecting certain shots but were unable to get them.

What are the actual areas and poses that are allowed by Disney for the MK shoot? Is the carosel one of the choices? (I've only ever seen one couple on it.)

The front of the castle, the inside of the castle by the tilework, the carosel and up on one castle balcony are the usual choices.

It also depends on the photographer you receive.

Yep. Carousel is one of them. :)

Thanks Brittany for your help...that makes sense about Main Street! Anyone know about the rose garden though? It's where we got engaged so I hate to think we couldn't at least take a few pictures there. I mean it's right next to the castle anyways :)

just bumping this up! The rose garden is my favorite spot to take pictures, and I would love to know if any of you all that had the Magic Kingdom photo shoot had pictures taken over in that area as well as by the fountain beside the castle. Would it be worth to call Disney Photographic Services and ask? Thank you so much!!

Jessica

Yeah, every year my mother has this thing about taking my picture in front of the Cinderella fountain, anybody know if that a yes?

I've seen a few of the MK shots over by the rose garden and the side of the castle. Check with your photographer first thing, depending on the work thats going on you may get to go to an alternate location or two. I was thrilled because I wanted a specific horse on the carousel and luckily it was in the right position for us to use.

We requested Haunted Mansion photos beforehand through our wedding planner. It wasn't guaranteed, but we got lucky and were able to get them. We also had some taken inside the castle, in the CRT waiting area and on those stairs. We had pics taken in front of the castle (by the Walt and Mickey statue), on the side, on the Cinderellabration stage, in the walk through, in the CRT waiting area, the back balcony of the castle, the ground behind the castle, the carousel and the Haunted Mansion. Whew! You can make requests through your wedding planner, maybe even through the photography department directly. We also worked quickly to optimize our time. I've seen Main Street photos and they look great!

I tried to find price quotes for this on the web - is there a site specifically about MK photo shoots?

Not that I am aware of. The standard price (via the Wish Book on disneyweddings.com) is $800 for the MK photo shoot. From reading the other forum threads this is something that is only offered if you are going through disney FTW.

Yay! :goodvibes Talk to your WP about shots you feel you really need. I think they should be able to get pictures around Cinderella's fountain, but you never know. Good luck! :)

I was waivering for a while about this one too... After seeing some of the pics on this board and reading an earlier thread about those who did/did not do the MK photo shoot - I decided I really wanted to do it! Basically everyone who did it loved it and those who didn't regretted it.

We thought about it. In the end, it was not worth $1000 to us. Yes, the price is about $850, but I would also want my hair and make-up done. For that money, we get to treat everyone to a Wishes cruise, get a Couple's massage at Mandara spa, and eat at all the top restaurants. Although it is a unique experience, we are very picky about photography, and we didn't feel that the photos are very creative. It is all a matter of personal choice.

Well without turning this into a debate regarding the merits of the MK Photo shoot, thanks for your help everyone :) I'll speak with both our EM and Disney Photography and hope for some good luck :wizard:

It really depends on the photographer. Ours actually took pics on Main Street, without going down it. It was a shot from the center (circle area) looking down Main Street. He also took one in front of the tomorrowland area because hte lights were on. He said the lights were never on in the morning and he liked the shot. They don't have much time though. However, with the little time they do have, they accomplish alot.
