We're getting married in October at Disney and are trying to decide if we want to pay $800 for the MK Photo Shoot. We are able to get the Honeymoon Shoot for free since we are using Randy Chapman for our Intimate. If you did the MK shoot, was it the best memory you have? If you didn't, do you regret it? HELP!!!!! pixiedust:

There are a lot of strong opinions on this on these boards :teeth: but for DH and I, we 100% do not regret that we didn't do the MK photo shoot. When Rosie first presented the idea to us we considered it for about 5 minutes before saying no. For us it wasn't just the money, but it wasn't important to us to have those pictures. Plus, we weren't at all interested in getting up in the middle of the "night" and getting back in my dress and my hair and all that again. We are not morning people and found it hard to get up even at 9:30 am for our day-after brunch :rotfl:

The pictures I've seen on these boards are great though and if you want it and can afford it - go for it!

Hmmm Ive thought long & hard on this 1 myself & although i think the Mk photos are so beautiful, there is other things i want to spend $800 on like a dessert party. So we've opted to have honeymoon pics in front of the castle instead. Plus i dont have to get up at 4am to get ready, as were really not morning ppl.

For me, the MK shoot was so worth it. It just made our intimate wedding extra special and the pictures are incredible.

We didn’t do the MK photo shoot, and I don’t regret it. We had a late wedding (7:30 pm ceremony w/ reception lasting until 1:30 am), so it would’ve been way too difficult to get up that early the morning of the wedding (plus we didn’t want to see each other before the wedding). The same thing is true of after the wedding—since we were up so late for the reception, we wouldn’t have been able to handle getting up early enough for the photo shoot. We did have Randy Chapman come back the day after the wedding and take some pictures of us around the GF. Since we had an evening wedding but still wanted some daytime pictures, this worked out wonderfully for us. Plus, we didn’t have to get up before the crack of dawn to have them taken. The pictures I have seen really are wonderful, but it just wasn’t the best option for us.

I will not regret this. The bottom line. You can only do this if you are a Disney Bride, and since I am shelling out a good bit of money for this wedding I definately don't want to not have this opportunity. Add to that I am a HUGE Cinderella fan....I guess that explains it all!

We were married two weeks ago today, I didn't do the MK Photo shoot and still terribly regret it. The pictures that mean the most to me are the ones with Cinderella's Castle and Grand Floridian in the background. I guess I am a Princess at heart and know the opportunity has passed!! princess:

We didn't do either the MK shoot, (eeeeearly in the am. in the gown) or the honeymoon shoot (in the park, during the day without the gown). And I honestly don't regret either decission. I went back and forth for months on the MK shoot, and looked at EVERYONES pics I could find, and in the end I decided it just wasn't worth the time or the effort. Especally when they don't guarentee the castle will be colored for your shoot, and that it can be cancelled for rain the day of, it left too much to chance for me to 'waste' the money.

The honeymoon shoot, didn't seem like a good use of our time, you get pictures in the park, but it would have cost me more to get all of them, and I'm not a fan of having my picture taken, so it seemed more like punishement to me. Maybe I'm weird hehe.

In the end it just depends on what you truely want and whether or not you think you'll regret it later. But for me I don't.

we had the mk photo session scheduled & then decided to cancel shortly before the wedding due to rising wedding costs, in the end we dont regret not doing it. we have so many great wedding photos & trip pictures at the parks.

Yes I regret it also in a way, but then again there are a few things I regret.
After the wedding I wished I had done the MK shoot and had cinderellas coach, but as the weeks have gone on I dont regret them half as much as not having a video done.
I just wish I could 're-live' the memory.
I did have swap our photo package as I had Randy Chapman do our pictures & so I had a honeymoon shoot instead and that was all done around the castle, and they are beautiful.
If you can afford it and dont mind the hassle of a very early morning shoot, then go for it. Do what you heart desires, you only do it all the once.

This is how I put it in my trip report (click here):

With the Wedding Pavilion already booked, I next had to book the Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session. There was no way I was going to have a Fairy Tale Weddings anything without a photo of my husband and I standing in front of Cinderella Castle. I mean, what would the point be of all that fairy tale stuff if you couldn't get a photo with a castle in it?

So, as soon as I had booked the Wedding Pavilion, I booked the Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait Session. Not too many folks have photos of themselves standing in their wedding attire in front of a castle: click here.

I thought the photos would be fun to hand down through the generations. I know my future grandkids will love seeing my Magic Kingdom photos and hearing all about my fairy tale love story, dragons and all. ;)

Totally!!! Well, maybe not totally. I regret not looking into it. I actually had a Shades of Green wedding, and didn't think I could do bridal portraits in the park. I didn't ask. I really could have. I don't know now if I would have spent the money. I think someday, we will get a portrait session (honeymoon session, if you like) done. So, if I had the option you do, I don't know what I would do. Boy...that isn't any help. ENJOY!!!

I can't say enough about how great everyone on these boards has been. You are all so generous with your time and ideas and have helped me out tremendously. I've made many tough decisions with the ideas I've received on these boards.

I thank you all!!!!!!

DISNEY ROCKS!!!!! :woohoo:

I would have regretted it. I am soooo glad we did this. We didn't get back to our room until real late and the makeup lady was showing up at 3am. i had about 2-3 hours of sleep. You can't tell though. It was so worth the pain to get up and get ready again. Although, by about 11am, I was back at the room napping. :)

I have pictures now that most people can only dream about having for their wedding. if you have the money, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I also had the Cinderella Coach. This was an amazing experience, but not worth the money it costs. I can't say taht about the photo shoot. Even the experience of being in the park without anyone makes it a truly magical experience.

If there is one thing I truly regret about not having our wedding at WDW it is the MK pictures! We REALLY wanted to do that. We actually had a castle shoot scheduled here at DL, but it would have been the morning of the wedding (our wedding was at 7pm) and we would have had to pay the $800 or whatever for the session plus our photographer's fees.

We have awesome DCA reception pics though, so I'm not too broken up about it. Plus I DID get the coach and we DID have Mickey and Minnie! :thumbsup2

Had we the WDW FTW, OH yeah, there is no doubt we would have had the MK shoot...

We had it booked for our vow renewal. And then I cancelled it due to rising costs (the whole vow renewal cost more for 13 people than my original wedding did for 200!!). However, once we got to Florida and I talked to DH about it (he hadn't known anything about it before hand), we decided to call Rosie again. I found out that she had received our email to cancel the MK photo session, but had never actually taken us out of the book so we did it on the exact same day and time that we had originally scheduled.

I'm not sorry that we did it--although 5am is really, really early!!!! I hope that the pictures come out well as we haven't seen them yet. I do know that Ty got my DH to smile and he NEVER smiles for pictures.

We did the MK photo shoot the morning after our vow renewal. I opted not to have the hair and make-up people come back the next morning. So, my hair and make-up is different in the MK shoot than it is at the wedding. But, I'm sure it will look more natural. I wore my hair up for the renewal and down for the MK photo shoot. Also, a friend of mine's brother made all of our flowers in silk for the vow renewal, including a bouquet for me, my daughter, the unity candle arrangement, boutineer's for the boys and my father-in-law, as well as corsages for my mother-in-law and my sister. Since Disney provided a bouquet for me, I used the silk bouquet the next morning for my MK photo shoot. They both had the same flowers in them and looked amazingly alike but by the next morning my fresh flowers were looking a little wilted. Also, my bouquet from Disney started to fall apart as soon as I picked it up the first time in the bride's vestibule--so I was glad to have silk flowers for the MK photo shoot.

So, after that long-winded story, yes, I am glad that we did the MK photo shoot in the end. However, if it had not been available when I called Rosie after arriving in Florida, I would have been okay with that too.

Guess I'm no help at all!!

We have actually planned our Sept VR around the MK shoot. It will be a long day, but worth it. I'm sure I won't want it to end.
I just feel that I would regret it terribly.

I'll add myself to the no help category:

We did the photo shoot. We have a couple nice pictures from it. But the experience left us less than thrilled over all. We were unimpressed with our photographer, which was most of why we weren't happy with the shoot.

Over all, I'm glad I did it because I probably would have regretted not having the expereience. But in the end, I'm not convinced it was worth the money.

When I started planning my Disney wedding, an MK shoot was on my absolutely must-have list. Then the decorations for the 50th went up and I hated that big giant mirror-thing. I've seen some great pictures with the decorations, and those are special because it was for a special year. But it wasn't for me, so I cancelled my shoot with the intention of getting all gussied up again on an anniversary trip to have the shoot with the "classic" castle. Now I have no intention of doing that. I had a beautiful wedding and would have loved to do an MK shoot (again, with the classic castle) but I have no regrets for cancelling it.
