We are going in July and love the MK. Is it better to valet at CR or to use the lot? We are staying offsite. I have read you can do that. Will they allow you to leave and come back in the middle of the day?

You need to park at the TTC. Unless you have a reservation to dine at CR, you are not permitted to park at resorts.

I thought anyone could valet at CR. At least that is what I read.

You are correct (except for the absolute busiest days of the year). Sorry, I can't answer your original questions.

Yes, valet charges cover the whole day and all resorts.

If you care to save 20mins+- valet the car. If time isnot a big deal park at the TTC, simple as that.

Question about parking at MK. Staying OFF-site about 28 minutes away. How much time do we allow to park, get to TCC, and ferry to the front gate by Rope Drop. Park hours are 9am-7pm on our days there. Thanks in advance for help and advice!

Anybody with $20 can valet park at the resorts if there are spaces left. And once paid, it's good at any other resort that day - including the original resort you started at, as long as there is space.

I suggest arriving at the lot at least 60 minutes before park open, more might be better.

When we stayed offsite, we parked at the MK. We left our resort about an hour before rope drop. Our commute was only 5-10 minutes. We got a parking space fairly close to the front of the lot, walked to the ferry and rode over and made rope drop. Afternoon break was easy and we got an even closer spot when we came back. This was an early June vacation.

On average it takes me about 30 minutes to park and make it to the front of the MK. That includes the tram feom the lot and either the monrail or ferry from TTC.

Thank you for the tips and suggestions. I really appreciate the advice.

Wait, when you arrive at the MK front gate area, if you are not a resort guest(or AP holder) you will have to pay the $17 for the general parking. Then if you valet at CR, that would be an additional $20, am I incorrect on this?

No, you either veer left to MK parking or right for the CR/monorail resorts. It's one or the other. If you valet park to visit CR you just pay the $20 there, you haven't gone through the MK lot.

But when you get to that gate, the big Magic Kingdom, the only way you get not to pay is if you are a resort guest. I dont think you can say, Im going to valet my car at the resort, can you? If this were the case then you could theoretically never have to pay for parking.

Here is what I am talking about. it would be very easy to go in the 3rd lane to the right and then just go left after the gate to the MK parking. I believe you have to pay at this gate

@bsbrady , I see what you mean now. But even without a resort parking pass or AP they will let you pass through to the resorts--they're open to the public for visiting. My relatives without passes visited us many times last year to eat and hang out at the monorail resorts and WL, and a simple "We're visiting family" sufficed at that gate. They don't look up ADRs there or anything, so I guess they take it on your word. Could be different at very busy times.

In my experience, there's questions and guest/ADR lookups at the guard gates at the monorail resorts, unless you're valet parking, so that's where they handle that. I'm sure people get around the rules every day, but they do try to weed people out.
