MK Parade

I am sure this has been asked and answered but I couldn't find it. Is there a designated area for people on scooters to watch the parades at MK? If so where is it and how early do I need to get there? TIA

Yes there are 3 and they are marked on all park maps.

One is the the circle in front of the train station. One is in the circle in front of the castle and the other is in Frontierland, across from Hall of Presidents.

Busyness varies from day to day, but generally need to be there 45 minutes to an hour ahead.

I think the circle in front of the train station is for FP but I could be wrong also you really do not have to be in ne of theses ares just find a spot and park there I think you should not have any problems finding a place in the front 45 minutes before the parade starts If it is really busy you may want to up this to 75 minutes and if it is a special parade ( the christmas one even earlier)

There are the 3 spots for parades that I mentioned before.
This is the map with the locations marked - the letter P plus a wheelchair symbol.

And, yes, guests with mobility devices can use those spots, but are not required to.

Wow, the one in front of the castle looks to be rather nice, also for photographing purposes I assume that one gets filled up rather fast? I also wouldn't mind parking in a spot off the beaten path (e.g. out in Fontierland). Does anyone have any recommendation of nice spots other than those wheelchair spots?

anywhere on Main Street is going to likely be busy - including the area by the castle and the railroad. The areas in Frontierland or Liberty Square are usually less busy.

You can pick out a spot anywhere along the parade route. I would suggest checking some out earlier in the day or on a day you don't plan to go to the parade. Check out things like where the sun will be, is there any seating (there is some in Frontierland), what will be in the background for pictures, is there a curb there?

That's actually a good idea to stake out spots earlier in the day. I don't want to be on Main Street for the parade. I'm gonna be in an ECV and my son will have to take care of the stroller for the little one - I don't want to be near any curbs when there's masses of people moving. Hence I was looking for something off the beaten path. We did the spot in front of Hall of Presidents before but I didn't quite like it there. They let out people from the show during the parade and it was just so damn congested.

is half the place in town square for wheel chair and the other half for FP as I remember FP being there this is why I was confused on it being handicap not like it really maters I am just more curious.

I like to be between country bears and the diamond hours show this side is in the shade and normally you only need to be about 30 to 45 minutes before the parade start I once had a spot in front of the general store with a friend and we took turns going in side to look around just make sure you are out and in your spot ( were ever you are) at lest 20 minutes before the parade starts as other guest will make there way in your spot even if you have it saved ( I had one kid try to sit in my lap)

I think I give that kid some kind of dirty look and his mom said he just want to see the parade I said so do I and I have been here for over an hour and if you wanted to see you should have found a spot they left after that but come on do not try and sit in some stranger lap.

also there are some big planters I think they are about 2 and a half feet high ( a little higher then a chair) and are big like a few people can sit on then they are a little bit back from the rope in some places but if you stand you are above every ones head and you can have a great view of the parade coming down the person in the wheel chair can easel sit if front of you if you do not mind not being able to be right next to each other for the parade it gives a very nice view

Just be aware- the spot in the castle hub doesn't face the castle (it faces the Tomorrowland pathway)

Oh, that's sad. I thought it was looking down Main Street towards the train station. Looking back at Tomorrowland isn't quite nice....

BTW, which way does the parade go? Last I remember was start in Main Street and end in Frontierland for both day and night parade but that was 2 years ago. Has that changed? If it's reverse now, the hub certainly isn't the best WC spot after all....

Just a note: if you do happen to use a designated wheelchair area and it happens to be a particularly crowded night, the CM's may restrict the number of people who can go into the handicapped area with you. One busy night in June, I remember they were saying you could have one person sit on the ground in front of the wheelchair user and one person stand behind them.

Just depends on the time of year, crowd levels and demand. I have arrived between 5 and 10 minutes prior to the parade beginning and had no problem getting a spot in the HC viewing area. They do their best to accommodate but sometimes they can and do run out of space. If they do, in my book there is always another day. I can't sit there like that for 45 minutes. I have only ever been turned away once. But I don't do the daytime parade a ton...just occasionally. I go often so I don't need to see it that much.
