MK Opening?

Can anyone tell me about the opening ceremoney at MK? I have heard the mayor of MK is there and some characters. Where to they do this and at what time? What is the best spot for pictures?

They do this on a non morning EMH day at 8:55am. You enter the turnstiles and wait right under the train station. The music starts and the dancers come out. Then the train comes to the station. Mickey & the gang are on the train and they come out and dance. The mayor takes a family and they proceed to open the park together by doing a countdown along with everyone else waiting. Then the ropes drop, everyone does a mad dash while the characters then go to the middle of town square for autograph sessions.

It's cute! I saw it for the 1st time a couple weeks ago.

Oogiebooie is right, except that depending on the morning, the ceremony is as early as 8:45 am. After the ceremony, they let the crowds in, then there is another rope drop at the entrance to the various lands if it is before 9 am. I was also there on a rainy day. On that day they held us in the underpass, then characters came down for a very abbreviated ceremony.
