MK opening ceremony

Thanks - I was there in the fall and somehow missed it , arriving around that time (I think:) so was just curious.

Yeah usually between 15 and 20 minutes prior to opening time. You want to be there early to get a good view as the courtyard fills up and you could be held outside the tap points.

Just found out that the WDW railroad will be closed from April 11-23, wonder how that will change the show.

They should still do the show, it just won't include the train. The train was down for refurb on our last trip and the show went on as usual.

The characters will just step forward into view instead of arriving on the train. It is a bit less spectacular though.

I always try to get there about 30 minutes before the show to get a good spot the area fills up and some times they do not let any one else in, if this happens you will have a hard time seeing. if the train is down then they just do a little different version of the show. I have been there when they did not show at all they just let us in not sure why.

There are actually several versions of the show.
Sometimes, due to CM availability or technical issues, they will run a less cast-intensive version.
The shortest/simplest version consists of no live cast members at all, but just a recorded announcement
welcoming guests to MK.

There's no way to know, in advance, which version will be presented on any given morning.
