MK Opening Ceremonies

Has anyone been lucky enough to be the family that opens MK in the morning? If so, how were you selected?

We just saw the opening cermonies on our last trip for the first time, and really enjoyed seeing all of the characters arrive by train.

I've never been part of the opening ceremonies. I'm going to bump this back to the top of the list so that some of our veterans can offer advice on this topic.

We were at the turnstiles on Sunday 10/26 and the Guest Relations or Main Street Manager picked two families to count down from 10 to 1, throw pixie dust in the air, and open the MK. Sunday is EMH, so the train doesn't arrive with characters. Each of the families had cute kids. With my own children well into their teens and twenties, I don't think we'll get picked for opening any time soon (Not really ready for the kids to have grandchildren yet LOL).
