MK on Thanksgiving--Morning or Night?

So the original plan was to do MK in the morning on Thanksgiving Day (to avoid later crowds) and then to hop to DHS. But with the announcement of SWGE being open for our trip, I'm wondering if it would be better to RD it and do MK Thanksgiving night. I know nobody knows since SW isn't open yet, but which do you think would be worse Thanksgiving night--MK or DHS? I'm getting ready to book a Thanksgiving meal and not sure whether to book it for lunch or dinner.

Both. (No, I'm not kidding.)
LOL! I totally understand. This is the only time we as a family can go. We have 3 value DVC studios at AKV, and there's no way I'm cancelling them. I'm just trying to make the best plans possible.

Ok, on another thread someone mentioned that DHS may close to capacity on Thanksgiving Day, so I think we will RD it and go to MK that evening. Has MK ever closed to capacity on Thanksgiving Day?

That was me. If not HS then maybe GE, specifically, could. We really have no idea what's in store once a holiday comes.

Here is information on past closures.

MK has not closed on Thanksgiving, which is why I think doing RD at HS is a good idea.

It is difficult to know how SWGE will impact everything, but FWIW we went last Thanksgiving (and are going back this Thanksgiving too) and we found that RD is essential to getting things done. I would RD DHS and then go over the MK. No matter where you go in the afternoon will be busy, but I think if SWGE is a priority for you, then RDing it is important. Just my two cents.

Thank you for the advice. I think both of you are right. I'll plan DHS for RD, then hop to MK as soon as we are done with SWGE. For MK, I'll have some FPs booked and try to get more, if possible. My main goal will be to eat Thanksgiving dinner at LTT (or lunch at WCC--wherever we can get ADRs) and watch HEA. We will be doing another day at MK, so if we don't get a lot done Thanksgiving night, it will be fine.

I'm going to try to get an LTT reservation on Thanksgiving day too! But I've got some backups planned if that doesn't work out. :)

Last Thanksgiving, I was able to get several fastpasses after our first, so I think your plan sounds good. I hope it's s similar experience this year!

I know those shorter trips can be a real hassle to plan!
