MK on TH w/EMH or FR w/MVMCP?

O.K., here's our dilemma -- we're heading to Disney for just three days (Dec 13-15) with our sons (7 & 4). DH absolutely hates crowds, and we are planning on doing MK on either thursday (which has EMH that morning, plus MVMCP that night) or friday (which would cap our week nicely, but has MVMCP that night and will probably pull in the local crowd). Our kids will be hooped by early evening, so we're not worried about the parade....but which day would you choose in terms of all day crowds? (We're leaning towards friday.) [On a side note, we have to do AK on Wednesday because MIL and FIL are joining us on Thursday and HAVE to do MK.]

Since we've never been, any feedback would be really, really appreciated! Thanks!

I'll preface this by saying I haven't been in December, so I'm not an expert, but...I would say MK on Friday. Mickey's X-mas party shouldn't affect crowd levels strongly since it is a separate pay event, and in fact I would think people would be LESS likely to go to MK that day if they are already paying $40 to get in at night. Since both days have MVMCP, that leaves the morning EMH on Thursday being the big difference, and that will definitely increase crowds, and that 1 extra hour in the morning isn't that big a deal (Evening EMH are worth it, though)

Though you didn't ask, I would recommend EPCOT for your third park if you only have the three days. With boys your age, they will love Test Track, Soarin, Nemo, and Maelstrom. Grandma and Grandpa will appreciate EPCOT more than MGM. The crowds will be less noticable here than at MGM. (MGM is very compact and poorly laid out, making it seem crowded even when it isn't.)

And as I advise all newcomers...DO NOT MISS the Fesitval of the Lion King when you go to AK. It will be one of the highlights of the trip.

I had this exact same problem with the same dates. We're gonna be there Dec. 8-16th. We wanted to go to MK near the end of the trip so I couldn't decide between Thursday (with emh) or Friday (with mvmcp). Both days will have lines and some crowds, but I'd pick Friday too. EMH and mvmcp on the same night is not good for crowds. Those who go to mvmcp on friday night will probably not be in the park all day and arrive by 3pm or later, so the park should be ok in the morning hours.
