Trying to decide what to do on NYE - We are staying at Wilderness Lodge and are Annual Pass holders...

Do you think we can get in the park later in the day like 6pm?

I know my kids and I can make it all day but DH is looking like he is not going to cooperate (yet this trip was his idea) Kids are teens!!

Thanks for your help!

You could be pushing it to be honest. All I have read suggests the parks will fill up by early afternoon. It might be possible though.

To the best of my knowledge having an AP won't get you any more preference. Indeed, nor will staying on property or having an ADR. If it's full - it's full.

We spent last NYE at WDW but we chose to go to MGM (we were there earlier in the day and then went back at 6pm). Anyway we were driving from the BCV to AK in the afternoon at around 4pm and all the signs said the MK was closed at this point.
Like the above poster said though when the park is full it is full wether you are staying on property, AP holder no matter what.

The signs mean that the Magic Kingdom parking lot is closed. Not the park itself. In fact, the MK parking lot closes around 10:00 AM the entire last two weeks of December. Will the MK close on NYE? Probably. But it almost always opens back up later in the afternoon/evening. I think the OP should have no problem entering the MK at around 6:00 PM as many people will have already left after the parade.

I would not chance it. I would be doubtful a 6 p.m. entry is possible.
We spent NYE at MK for 2004, and at Epcot 2005.
Late afternoon Epcot was getting more packed because guests were being refused MK entry and being sent to Epcot. It was not too much past that Epcot was capped off, from what we overheard from others.

We even went to Epcot late afternoon knowing we might not make it in. We figured if we did, we did. If not, we were not going to be upset.

I have personally re-entered both the MK and Epcot in the 6:00 PM timeframe on more than one NYE.
