Planning on getting to MK just before park opening and then returning around 6:00PM or so. Any chance the park would close off guests from re entering at this time or would we be safe to enter? Never done July 3rd and wondering what others have witnessed during last year. thanks!

The chances of you not getting back in the park in the evening are pretty much zero. Don't worry about it.

I was there 7/3 last year, generally between Poly and MK throughout the day. I don’t ‘think’ there were any phased closures that day last year, or if there were it wasn’t obvious being on the ground.

Are you driving? I’d be more worried about traffic getting back towards the MK in the evening than I would a MK closure.

Staying at Kidani Village and taking bus back to MK.

4th of July week is not like it used to be. It is only projected to be moderate crowds by Touring Plans which is the best crowd predictor. Also based on ADR, FP availability, and yielding on resort rates it won't be too bad this year.

Now crowds are worse in winter than summer.

Ah, got it. Buses sit in mostly the same traffic too in many places, so just give yourself extra time getting back over there.

We stayed at Poly to watch the fireworks on 7/3, but I headed into the MK afterwards for the EMH they had that night (which they are also having on 7/3 this year). Not going to lie, it was among the most crowded EMHs I've ever experienced.

Still a great day/night in the MK and awesome holiday vibe. Hope you have fun!

I'm going July 3, and my latest update for MK was a 9.

I'll be there week of July 4, I can not modify pretty much any of my FPs in any park at this point because they're all gone, and that has been the case for a while now. I am expecting big crowds.

We had dinner at Wilderness Lodge last year on July 3rd and then boated over to MK for the fireworks afterwards. No issues whatsoever.

We went last year on July 3rd....no closing but crowded. It took about 2 hours to get to the car at TTC at closing. They shut down all monorails and only had ferry going. We had a great time!

Also there are phased closings when they do occur and staying at a Disney resort is beneficial.

"Except for phase 4 (which is rarely ever seen), these people will always be allowed in the parks during a closure phase:

  • Disney World resort guests
  • Walt Disney World Premier, Annual and Premium Passholders
  • Guests with dining reservations in the parks
  • Magic Kingdom guests w/reservations at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Harmony Barber Shop or The Pirates League"

You'll have nothing at all to worry about.
I wouldn't want to walk up and plan to buy a ticket at the gate for MK, with no other plans, on July 3rd in the middle of the day but otherwise, no worries at all.
Even 1 day tickets at the gate are likely only going to be shut out briefly, if it even happens at all.
