We will be spending time in Orlando the week before Christmas. Curious how practical it is to spend Christmas Eve at the MK. We are NOT rope drop peeps and will not be staying on property. Will the odds be against us and we be turned away at the turnstiles with one day tickets?

The problem is TTC parking closures. Phase 1 closure is the parking lot closure.
If you have not parked by the 9am hour, you may not get in.

While parking is directed to Epcot, if it gets busy enough, security won't let you on the monorail to MK (TTC) if you are not on-property, or AP, or have reservations.

There's a pretty decent chance you won't even make it to the turnstiles.

If you do get in, it's going to be unbelievably crowded.

We were there a couple of years ago staying off-site but I can't remember which park we did on Christmas Eve (day). I know I was surprised that it wasn't quite as crazy as I anticipated. Guess I need to come up with a Plan B that I can live with if we are turned away.

we've been there at christmas. MK gets closed. So, if you are not there early, you may not even get in.
