MK on an Early Morning Magic day - but doing it without EMM

Noticed that our MK day has Early Morning Magic. I'm not interested in paying for that, but curious how it will impact us at normal park opening. Will the line for SDMT already be long-ish at normal park opening? We were planning on heading straight there that morning ....

Just for comparison, my wife and I were at HS this past weekend. We were resort guests so we were the for EMH. Just before 9am (regular park opening) we got on Tower of Terror. Was about a 15 minute wait. When we got off at approx 9:20am it was a 90 minute wait. My guess is the mine train will be worse than that.

From reading other people's posts, if they are at EMM, they will be going to other rides to take advantage of the short line since they just rode 7DMT ten times. I think you'll be fine.

EMH and EMM are vastly different, though. EMH has the potential for thousands of people to already be in the park (and affect wait times at park opening for other guests). EMM is reportedly only for a few hundred people, and guests coming in at park opening shouldn't notice a difference.

That's what I was thinking ...

We had a pre park opening breakfast at Magic Kingdom earlier this month on an Extra Magic Day. After we finished breakfast, there was a line for us that came out of BOG to stand in if we wanted to ride 7DMT. My daughter stood in line, while I walked up closer to the carousel to take pictures. There were CMs standing so we couldn't go beyond a certain area, but I did not see anyone beyond them toward Peter Pan or toward Winnie the Pooh. They led us through the 7DMT line at 8:40ish, and we had enough time to ride it twice before the rope drop crowd arrived. I don't think they had been able to sell any Extra Magic tickets that day

I would suspect that to not be the case considering there is no availability for EMM showing for the ones scheduled through May and you would've been there during an even busier time. What it does show is how limited the attendance is being held down for this and how, after people are getting their initial rides in, are using it as a means to jumpstart their touring elsewhere.
