Hi all!

If we go to MK during the daytime on a MVMCP day, what's the latest we can schedule a FP? 5pm?

Also, are we able to stay for the castle to be lit up?

TIA! :earsgirl:

You can stay, but you can't do anything. Meaning you can't ride a ride or anything along those lines without a wristband. You may get told you need to head towards the exit, but it's not like they are likely to escort you out.

As for how late you can schedule the FP, it's probably a few minutes before the scheduled closing time.

Sorry, but pretty much all of this is incorrect. You must have a party wristband to attend at all—it is a hard-ticket, extra-cost event. It is not EMH.

They will start escorting you to main street USA and at 6 will the first castle lighting of the night, then ppl without wristbands will be escorted out of the parks. You cannnot shop, ride rides, etc... without a wristband

Its not my intent to try to stay. We're actually attending the party on a separate date. This is our arrival day, so I was thinking we could go for the afternoon and leave at closing.

I was thinking about scheduling the FPs for as late as I can bc of our arrival time, not to take advantage of anything.

And I thought I had read that the castle lighting is around 6?

Just want to be clear that we're all about following the rules and doing it the right way! :)

Somewhere around there, maybe as late as 6:30p. We’ve done the same. As long as you’re on your way out by 7:00p, you should be fine. You paid for that time. :thumbsup2

ETA: I am a little unclear on recent procedures and exactly how day guests are handled between 6:00p and 7:00p, so watch for further answers from others with more recent experience.

At one point I know the last FP window on party days ended at 6:30. I’m not sure if that’s still true, but it certainly would not be any later then when the party starts at 7:00. If the castle is lit before then you’ll get to see it. Unfortunately the information above is incorrect. The CMs will actually form a line across the walkways at various places throughout the park and if you do not have a wristband you will be instructed to leave. They will not allowed to go by them. Not that you are trying to stay OP, but just putting this out there so others are aware they won’t be allowed to linger if they’re not riding rides.

Actually, fast pass times will end at 6 pm, as that is when the normal park hours end & the park is officially closed. If your last fastpass is at 5:30, it will be listed as 5:30 - 6pm for example. Once 6 pm hits, expect lines of CMs to start blocking the walkways to each land. They will check for wrist bands & direct you towards Main Street as they begin to clear the park.

I usually don't care too much about the timing with parties, but I haven't been at Christmas a few years and things change. This year, there are 4 parties and a CM party while we are there. Only a couple of nights with evening hours for me to catch the castle lit up. I would hope the castle will light about 5 every night.

Thank you guys! Sounds like a 5 pm FP would be the best for my last one.

And if we get to see the castle lighting on this first night, I'll consider it a bonus.

Was just hoping to have one less thing on my Must Do list for MVMCP night! :D

The last FP window for most attractions will be 5:30-6pm. Characters and some other attractions (Tales w/ Belle for example) will have earlier windows than that.

Last year, the castle lighting (A Frozen Holiday Wish) was at 6:15pm. Non-MVMCP guests can stay to watch. The serious park clearing generally starts at/closer to 7, so you can use that 6-7 time to watch the show, finish up any shopping on Main Street, and head out.

I think your chances are very good! Last December we didn’t attend any parties and still got to see the castle lights quite a bit. 👍🏼😊

Can confirm this. Just booked a FP on a party night for 5:25 - 6:00.
