Hi - I lucked out and my upcoming reservation at SSR aligns with the first Magic Kingdom Moonlight Magic event in March. As this will be my first MM at WDW and my first time at SSR, I’m looking for some insights into the pros & cons of the transportation and check-in options from those who may done this in prior years.
We will not have tickets to be in the MK earlier than the MM event, so no earlier than 6pm. We will have a car, which I don’t usually have on property. Options seem to be drive to TTC and parking to ferry or monorail to MK, or take the bus from SSR. We can check in at SSR starting at 6, or earlier at the vacation booth at the MK entrance. The email confirmation suggests checking In at the resort. Since the MM is the day I arrive, the earliest we could start heading to the MK is likely after 5pm.
The bus seems to be the better option, with no parking lot entrance traffic and getting to the TTC for a ferry or monorails, but I’m wondering if they run extra busses around the start or would we be waiting a while at the resort for the next bus with space for 4 of us.
I’d also expect the crowds to be heavier before and just after 6pm for the earliest allowed entrance, so is it maybe better to plan to arrive closer to around 6:30 & let the initial influx things settle a bit?
Thanks for any help, experience, and info you can share.
