Hello,
I'm trying to get a feel for the size of the Magic Kingdom main street as compared to Disneyland main street.
Are they about the same size, same number of shops, etc.?

Thank you!

Roughly from what I remember yes. I don't have maps but if Robo is around...

Thank you. Can't tell you how wonderful it is to have you folks to ask questions of!

I'm no expert but I think that while MK Main Street is larger in scale and size, DL Main Street actually has more shops. IMHO it has much more character in design

There is a .01 mile difference (yes, one one-hundreth of a mile or 52 feet) between the two. You might find this thread comparing the two parks to be of interest. Physical comparisons start on post 25.

I loved reading that thread!! The details that are out there if you know where to look.

Sounds like you've been to DLR, but not to WDW? If so, have maps in your hand at all times while at MK. It's so weird to feel like you know where you are, but then no, you don't know at all. We've been going to WDW since December 2010 and this last trip was the first time I wasn't looking for New Orleans Square. It's the first trip I finally *noticed* Tom Sawyer's Island and saw the rafts and got over there. Never even noticed it before. I'm just so bewildered about where I am, LOL. It's like being dizzy, slightly concussed; you think you know but then you don't. :)

Yes, I've been to Disneyland about 5 times now. Never to WDW so I will be certain to keep those maps on hand!! Great tip!
