Who is in your party? What are the ages? What are you goals - is meeting characters a priority? When is your trip?
I certainly wouldn't do a breakfast, as those are prime touring hours.
A little info will help us to help you.
There are four of us. Two kids 9yrs and 6yrs. I'd say see characters are a priority. But, since we are on such limited timing, I didn't want to waste a lot of time at a sit down meal. We are going Oct. 29th and 30th. Thank you
It's important to keep in mind that there are only 2 character meals inside MK. So you'd either want to do both of them -- and one is a pretty expensive experience -- or you'd need to leave the park. While there are 3 breakfasts, a lunch, and 2 dinners on the monorail loop, it becomes a question if you want to spend that time traveling back and forth for a character meal.
Absolutely! I have a 9 and 6 year old and character meals save us so much time. I would recommend Crystal Palace (Pooh's gang) and 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella, prince, step sisters and mother tremaine) 1900 is not in MK, but you can take the monorail, and I think even with the time spent in sit down restaurants you will save time meeting some. (You will have to sit down, take a break and eat why you are there- why not hang out with characters while you are at it?)
this is helpful. I think we have a dinner at Crystal Palace on the first day (Sat) and then brunch at Chef Mickey's on the Sunday. I am wondering if it makes sense to leave MK for the brunch on Sunday? One character meal will be covered with the meal plan and the other out of pocket which I know can be $$. So, still undecided about both or just one. I also considered Ohana for breakfast but it just doesn't seem to fit in with our schedule.

If it were me, I would skip Chef Mickeys. I also wouldn't want to give up good park hours (morning) so if you do a brunch try to do it around 11:30. Ohana's is doable with the monorail as well, and has lilo/stitch/mickey/pluto. It isn't far from MK either. Personally, I would choose Ohana over CM.

We are there from opening to close both days- just the weekend Saturday and Sunday staying at Pop Saturday night. Leaving MK on Sunday at park closing.
I doubt the OP can secure a PPO ADR, but given his circumstances, that would be ideal.
OP- I would keep the ADR at CP. you are in the MK and eed to eat, so why not? We have enjoyed dinner there when we plan to stay until after Wishes. It is a nice break.
As to CM brunch, only you can decide if leaving the park is a good idea. If you are there from RD to park close, I would think it is a necessity. CM does not get a lot of love, but my family enjoys it.
One thing to keep in mind, characters can be part of the attraction of the MK. I would not discount the kids wanting to stand in a few lines, no matter that you have meals booked. Shoot, I would stand in line for Tink, she is a blast! And I still am glad I waited for Marie when she was there.
