The MK has few enough vegetarian meals (other than the ubiquitous veggie burger), and now Main Street Bakery has stopped serving a vegetarian sandwich. I was so disappointed when I was there a couple of weeks ago! The sandwich choices: 3 meat sandwiches. Boo-hoo!

Oh, that's too bad. :( Veggie burgers get old fast, don't they!

I plan on getting my usual veggie food at Columbia Harbour House. :thumbsup2
And I'm going to try the noodle bowl in the new Tomorrowland spot.

Yes, MK was the hardest for my sister. She did however, get a wonderful dish at LTT for dinner. We didn't ask for it, but when I told the server to bring less meat because it would only be me eating most of it, she asked if sis wanted the veggie dish. It was like a stir-fry with veggies and rice and couscous I think. She enjoyed it. Also, at Epcot, they have this veggie platter at Tangerine Cafe and it was really good. She got a portabella burger at ESPN Club and she said that was good too.

thats weird, i have the hardest time eating at MGM and AK. I always find more than enough at MK with 2 options at Columbia harbor house, the veggie burger and now the noodle bowl. i always end up with pizza at the other two even though i don't "love it" it seems to be the only thing i can find. would love to know if there are hidden treasures for fast food veggie stuff at those two parks. hubby is a non-veggie and would eat pizza at every meal!

DD is a veggie and we just found out on our last trip that sci Fi (and presumably other restaurants) have a vegetarian menu. We never knew to ask for it until DD complained about being sick of having nothing but vegie burgers, pasta and salad. By the way she thinks Morocco and Teppanaki grill were best veggie dining followed closely by choices at Boma.

hotveggy, one of my favorite veggie meals is at AK! Tusker House makes a great cold grilled veggie sandwhich with hummus on foccacia bread. It is served with a side of grapes. The sandwhich itself is huge and fills me up for most of the day and I love the grapes - I get so sick of fries all the time. It is also reasonably priced. Best part is that Tusker House has great non-veggie options to for the meat eaters in our lives so you can eat together. My bf cannot stop talking about the roasted chicken he had there. The seating is also really nice, either indoors or out.

I am not sure about MGM since I don't ge there too often, but I would love to hear about some options.

I've heard about some positive results of people identifying themselves as vegetarians at table service restaurants--special meals off the menu, etc. It seems they are generally very flexible. It's counter service that can be a problem; they just don't seem to have the ability to whip something up on the fly, but would take meat out of things instead.

I don't mind a veggie burger now and then, but I don't like all veggie burgers. Especially the soy-based ones that attempt a beef flavor. Yuck. I intend to avoid veggie burgers at WDW as much as I can.

For counter service in the other parks, we're definitely doing Tusker House in AK, and I want to try ABC Comissary in MGM. Epcot is definitely not a problem. :)

There's a GREAT veggie sandwich at the Backlot Express in MGM. It's right next to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. They're not open all the time, and I think they close an hour or so before the park closes, but they're my favorite CS meal to eat in MGM.

Funny, because I think MK has the best veggie meal of all--the lighthouse sandwich at CHH. YUM

Oh, this is all so interesting - I had a good tomato and mozzarella sandwich from the main street bakery last week but the veggie sandwich at Tusker House at lunch on Jan 15th was not at all remarkable and not at all grilled! That would have been so good! :confused3 It was two pita pockets with what seemed like Greek-ish salad inside, also served with grapes. :confused3

At MK my DF and I survived off of fries from Casey's, ice cream and the big pretzels. We ate a big breafast ahead of time and we called it our snack day, but it was a little irritating. Just took a look at The Plaza Restaurant menu - they seem to have a good veggie sammy - we'll be dining there on our next trip.

Hmm, the CMs there seemed puzzled when I asked about a vegetarian sandwich--"I think we used to have one," is what they said!

Rer: the place with the noodle bowl, it was CLOSED when we were at the MK (puzzling, since it was a very busy day).

I will have to check out Columbia Harbour House--I've never eaten there.
