Where is the MK fireworks viewing for mobility aid users and how early do you need to get there to guarantee you will have a spot?

We will be there the week of July 9. Is there a way to watch the fireworks somewhere near the exit of MK that way when fireworks are done. We will not be mobbed? That week we are staying at Bay Lake.

you will still be in a mob of people trying to do what you want. plus there are walkways that are kept open for people to walk out during show

There is not really a way to watch the fireworks somewhere near the exit of MK that way when fireworks are done you will not be mobbed. A lot of people have the same idea so the areas near the exit of MK are full of people.

You need to change your thinking!

What our family does (and lots of other folks around here) is we watch the fireworks, and then head over to Casey's for a hot dog (it's a long-held family tradition for us!) and after that, we take our time wandering through the shops, taking pictures in front of the Castle, even taking time to go to the bathroom...

In short, we let everyone else clear out ahead of us.

Our thinking is that all of those folks are in a hurry - they always are, and that's OK. We already know that we move through life - and Disney World - at a slower pace. So, we let them go on ahead of us, and take our time getting back to the hotel.

By the time we leave the Park, it's very nearly empty, and the World has started to quiet down for the night. In a way, it's still Magical; I love seeing the Park start to close down, and seeing everything get ready to be cleaned and shined up for the next day. I especially love it on our last night there; it's like we are closing it up, safe and cozy until we return! Silly, I know, but that's how it has always felt to me.

But seriously - to see the entire fireworks show, and not be mobbed? The only way is to flip the script, and let everyone else leave before you.

We do the same idea as mamabunny. We try to NOT be in an area the crowd will need to come thru to leave; many people actually leave fireworks and parades before the end. If you are in/near the ’exit point’, they will be coming toward you.

We stay put until the crowd around us thins. Hanging back even 10-15 minutes lets the majority of the crowd get by and out before we move. By the time we are ready to leave, we have a leisurely walk out with few other guests instead of a slow plod stuck in the crowd.

I don‘t know if you were planning to take the monorail back to Bay Lake, but I would suggest walking back. Unless you wait a long time to leave, the monorails will be packed with guests from all the monorail resorts trying to leave.
There is a nice walking path from Contemporary to Magic Kingdom. If you haven’t used it, it kind of follows under the monorail track and is about a 10 minute walk. Much less stressful way to get back to your resort.

We actually stay exactly where we are at and wait for the crowds to dwindle. We stay back, people watch and then stop for ice cream on Main Street and people watch some more. Disney will not leave you stranded in a park! Stores on Main Street are open at least an hour after park close. Know that park close and ending of fireworks are necessarily the same time. Sometimes (especially during summer) is open til 10 or 11.

Count us in on the wait for everyone else to leave plan. We tried one time with me using the ECV to leave with the crowd and swore never again! It's so nice to just wait for the crowd to clear out and then make our leisurely way to the exit. It actually takes a lot less time than you might imagine for the crowd to at least lighten up considerably.

How many can be with the person in an ECV? We will have 3 other adults and a toddler in a stroller. Would we all be able to stay together or do we need to plan something else?

Our experience with wheelchair/ECV viewing areas for parades (never used one for fireworks) was max 2 guests plus the person with a mobility device. 1 guest could sit in the curb/ground in front of the device and the other would stand behind. Devices were lined up very close to each other - like elbow-to-elbow. No space for more.
