MK Fireworks - New Hub Experiences??

So I am seeing pictures of people sitting down on the turf in the new hub for fireworks viewing. Can this be real? I usually stake out a spot and then have a 7 foot tall dad step in my way and put his kid on his shoulders in front of us, so this has some serious potential for awesomeness.

Has anyone been to MK lately to confirm, review, spill any details of how this is working out?

Thanks!

Those areas are reserved for FP+. The HUB is so much bigger now with way more room, hopefully the situation will be improved because of it.

Thanks for that link. I had scanned that article before but just re-read it. I thought that only one side was going to be FP+ but this sounds like it may be both. I guess either way that's a plus since it could be a flop and easy to get later in the day (quite unlikely though) or is a hit and tough to get but maxes out the amount of people cleared from the non-FP+ area at least!

Not going to be a flop, I'll guarantee you that. And it will do virtually nothing to lessen crowds everywhere else.

I figure that the FP+ for Wishes will become THE most-difficult FP+ to get at MK.
And, with that, one of the most frustrating limitations of FP+ will be amplified.

If (IF) guests do somehow manage to grab one/some of the precious Wishes FP+ reservations,
they will then only be able to book TWO other FP+ experiences at MK that entire day.
(As they won't be able to book a 4th FP+ until after their 3rd FP+ has been used.)

We are 31 days from our trip and I booked all our FP+ at 60 days but was able to grab a wishes FP+ yesterday for Friday night the week we are there. We will be there the week of Easter. Wishes was not available when I booked at 60 days. I'm looking forward to trying the new area. Hopefully it will be a good view.

I sure hope that trend of sitting keeps up. I'm so tired of the pushing and shoving and then putting up with cameras and kids on shoulders that block your view anyway. We don't book morning FP+'s most days so losing the ability to book sdfp is not a big issue with us. I wouldn't care, I'll gladly give up that for not having to be in that crowd! With 2 viewing areas, at least it will open more slots for fp+.

Just because people in the FP+ area are sitting doesn't mean people standing in front of them outside of the FP+ area aren't going to stand. I've never sat for the fireworks and don't see any need to start now.

Not to hijack, but for MNSSHP and MVMCP, these areas will be fair game to everyone right? No FP+ at the parties to my knowledge. I wonder how the firework viewing at the already less crowded parties will be -- hopefully much improved?

2. No FP, but they might use them for extra-cost "parties."

Like something akin to the Villains Soiree? Or maybe a dessert party of some kind? Could be interesting. I guess we'll wait and see!

Oh I'm not delusional. I know people will continue to stand. Just saying if people are trending to sit within the FP+ section, you can theoretically place yourself so that the standing section ahead won't block you.

I think it was Josh at easywdw that had some great pics and even mentioned that he sat his camera on the ground and could still get great pics- it looks to me like the angles allow people within the fp+ area to sit and still not be blocked by those standing outside the area. I'm anxious to try it out myself and see how it works!
